  1. I'm used to putting in all my investment info Schwab sends me in turbo tax. I have no problem with that. From reading the NEOS website, these are marketed as "tax efficient" with dividends 60/40 long term/short term gains. And some of the dividends being a return of capital. That sounds like a pain in the ass to have to manually account for adjusted cost basis, long term vs short term gains, etc. I'm curious if it's all automated and the reporting classifies it all correctly Don't think this was meant for me
  2. Come tax season, is there anything special that must be done with the distributions for the NEOS ETFs like SPYI? Like would I need a tax guy to figure it out or a place like Schwab would automatically know how to categorize the distributions?
  3. Lol. This was on the other day, and I couldn't change the channel. Now my 8 year old walks around the house saying "I <clap> DENTICAL!" I agree with several of the above, and I'll add the "...Has Fallen" trilogy. It's a guilty pleasure and I can't seem to change the channel when it comes on. Also Top Gun Maverick. And Shooter.
  4. Good shit. I'm partial to Emerald Lake over Lake Irwin, but Emerald is a bit harder to get to due to the road getting there. Irwin is definitely larger and has a bit more to offer, but the scenery and tranquility of Emerald is a happy place for me. Glad you had a good CB experience. Not sure what your timeframe is for getting home, and actually I have no idea where you live, but I prefer going back to Austin via Alamosa. You avoid Monarch Pass. But added benefit is you pass by the Great Sand Dunes. Its worth adding a day to the trip home to go. Your kids will love it. Just get up early and go before it gets too hot.
  5. i love them trying to blow out the flames like it's a fucking birthday cake.
  6. Reviews are coming back overwhelmingly positive.
  7. Snodgrass was my morning routine with my dog for 3 weeks earlier this summer. I was working, so I'd get up and walk with him up to the trailhead and then usually time about 30 min before I had to turn around to make it back in time for a 745am meeting. I know exactly where that picture was taken on Teddy's Loop. Things have gotten a LOT dryer in the 2 weeks we've been home. With 2 littles, I recommend driving out Slate River Rd. to Gunsight Bridge. Fun area to fart around in the water and walk around. Or get up early and drive out to the Lower Loop Trailhead as far as you can go and walk Lower Loop. Easy for little ones. Another recommendation is driving just past Gothic Townsite and hiking Judd Falls. Go early. It's quite easy, which makes it popular. But the kids will like it. If you have bikes, they may like the Skate Park over by the Nordic Center. There's an area that little kids on bikes or balance bikes would like to ride around. There's a really cool bowl that adults and my 11 and 14 year old love as well (and Dad).
  8. If you're there for a few days, there's a a Wednesday concert at the base.
  9. Gas station attendant? That's an odd thing to call a cashier.
  10. We got a nice little shower in Driftwood in the late afternoon yesterday. 10 min of really hard rain followed by about 10min of light rain. It immediately cooled everything off.
  11. You'll have to excuse me...I'm a little slow. You're not saying Jimbo was stupid to take the Aggy job are you? Because from where I'm standing, that was brilliant.
  12. Actually don't think I did that. But I wasn't far off. And I've averaged down over time like most others. Feels like I'm throwing good money after bad.
  13. Not a doctor, but during allergy season, mixing benadryl, Zyrtec, and alcohol is not completely uncommon for me. Can't say I've ever tried meth for my allegies, though.
  14. Neither is consuming massive amounts of steroids for several decades.
  15. Do you golf? I bet there are some cool links courses you could get on and get a true british golf experience that time of year.
  16. To be fair, I didn't click the 2nd link and read the article, as I assumed the gist was about the same. 2 pieces of shit. 1 dead. 1 committed to play football at UGA pissed away his opportunity
  17. It was the same class they taught how to "Strenuously Object". You missed that one?
  18. "....king of the roooaaaad" IYKYK
  19. There is still 17% capacity left to fill to get to 681. There is still a lot of water coming in, but the worst is over.
  20. It's 18.5' from full. It's not 18.5' low. I'd be really interested in knowing what LCRA targets as "ideal" at different points of the year.
  21. I am a certified ref, although I only ref about 15-20 games a year. The handball rule is one of the most subjective rules of the game. I ref lots of 7v7 games because I spend many hours as a volunteer and coach at that age group so I tend to migrate there as a ref, and the number of parents that go apoplectic anytime a handball isn't called makes me laugh. One time I stopped the game when parents were going apeshit and asked if any of them could tell me what the handball rules were, and if the answer was "the ball hits their hand", they were wrong. Crickets. I actually agreed the Mexico handball wasn't a penalty. You are allowed to brace yourself when you fall.
  22. I love that sauce. Been thinking it would make a good glaze on pork, but didn't want to burn the sugar in it. When did you add the sauce to the meat?
  23. We come to CB for 3-4 weeks every summer. We're currently on our last week of a 3 week trip. Late July-early August will mean just about any hiking trail in the area will be accessible because the snow will have all melted. We've done a couple high elevation hikes that were a little muddy, but not too bad. The rivers are running pretty low, which means in 3-4 weeks will be even lower. But there is still good fishing to be had. If you are a hiker, I could fill your week with nothing but hiking suggestions. If anyone in your family likes to mountain bike, I can tell you all the good trails. The mountain itself has incredible downhill trails. There are bike jumps in town and a skate park where bikes are welcome. My boys and I can kill an entire afternoon at those 2 spots. If you like to disc golf, there's a course on the mountain. Will you be in an SUV with 4WD or AWD? That will change some of my suggestions as far as hiking is concerned. If you have a SUP, that opens up more possibilities as well. Lots of places around here to sit with a cold beer and enjoy an unbelievable view.
