  1. These aren't available at all HEBs, but they are available at the Nutty Brown HEB between Dripping Springs and Austin. My 10 and 13 year old boys now request these every Saturday for football watching food. I used to make these by hand, and then they appeared at HEB and saved me a shit ton of time. Edit to add that a quick look on heb.com shows they are available at a lot of Austin stores, but not at the Circle C HEB, which is the other one we frequently shop at.
  2. I do find it interesting they are counting on Bowling Green being a big recruiting weekend. I mean, it makes sense on it's face. But win or lose this weekend, it's not inconceivable they get even more banged up and lose even more depth. Bowling Green will be coming off a bye week after giving Penn St. all they could handle in Happy Valley two weeks before. I'm not saying they're going to lose. But that's not quite the cakewalk they were hoping for.
  3. Me, too. It didn't help.
  4. You forgot one detail. Edit to say I'm wrong on this. McNeese beat Sothern this season, so they've won 1 game since Thanksgiving of 2022. But they did finish with more yards and higher yards per rush vs Aggy than Southern. So they got that going for them, which is nice.
  5. I honestly thought you had somehow altered the language. That's hilarious. Equally hilarious the obvious dig at the dirty sips (aka tu) by saying UT moves into 2nd place. He also predicts the 12 playoff teams, and he's got Northern Illinois as the G5 at-large.
  6. They left off Miss St from the list. Although I'm not sure what a list of bottom feeders that Aggy plays has anything to do with our schedule. It's like they are just now realizing the SEC has bad teams, too.
  7. Pork nachos? Bacon wrapped sausage? Username definitely not checking out.
  8. Any pictures of the stands? I'm curious how many of the best fans in America showed up
  9. Didn't you get the memo? If they can fix Conner's feet, they are playoff bound. Or maybe the secret is to have Klein call up to TexAgs offices and get some advice on who and who not to play.

  11. I apparently botched the story, or you can't read. This was a high school graduation. I assume the girl was 18. She is not my niece. I was there because my niece graduated in the same class. The speaker was reminiscing about a vivid memory from the past. I think it was 5th grade. Maybe it was 6th. 220, 221. My sister rolled her eyes at the comment and at the audience reaction. It was a anecdote to support the notion that young people many times just parrot their parents and don't think for themselves. It wasn't even that good of a story.
  12. I caught a replay of one of her ACL performances a couple of days ago. Simply stunning voice. I couldn't change the channel.
  13. In May I attended my niece's HS graduation in Houston. It's a private school, and one of the speakers was a girl from the senior class. I don't think it was the Valedictorian speech--it was something stupid like speaking on memories from her time at the school because she was one of the few that had been attending since 1st grade. She got to 5th grade, and her favorite memory was watching Trump's Presidential Inauguration, "or what they call in my family 'the best day EVER!'" Half the room applauded. My sister rolled her eyes at me and I said "you're the one who paid to send your daughter here." Let's face it, most of us are influenced by our parents beliefs at an early age. So I'm sure she was excited for the inauguration at age 11 because her dipshit parents were excited. What I don't understand is the inability of people to think independently as they age to understand who has your best interests at stake.
  14. Or smart enough to exit his chair to the right, away from the shards of plate.
  15. Tonight I started to read up on listeria because my wife and I assumed store roasted deli meat like you find at HEB would be safer due to the fact that it's less processed and simply roasted and sold at the store. A lot of the risk comes from the spread of the bacteria from the counter, slicer, etc. So buy whatever you want, but you don't have to buy the original contaminated meat to be at risk
  16. If I didn't watch that era with my own eyes I wouldn't have believed it. That is one dumb motherfucker, and I'm curious what the interview was like that made someone think "yep, this is the coach for me. He kept calling me by a number, but that's part of his charm. Let's give him $5M per year". I'd pay good money to read a transcript of that interview. It should be a Harvard case study on how to maximize your hireability when you're a fucking dipshit. And then, how does the fucking South Florida AD look at the data in front of him and go "this guy totally got the short end of the stick at Texas. Let's throw some money at him." I mean, did no one ask him to explain any the dumb decisions he made as a head coach that a 4th grader would have handled better?"

  18. Uh, could you please be more specific
  19. That was a lot of words to let us know you don't like hearing lots of details.

    Oldies

Lots of great songs so far. Can't believe I didn't post Yakety Yak. Oh man...Everly Brothers. Love those dudes. My dad wore out the Everly Brothers around the house and in the car, and I never got tired of it. Can't help but belt this one out when it comes on. Good call on Dave Clark Five. This is probably my favorite.

    Oldies

I am an unapologetic lover of oldies music. I'm talking 50's and 60's music. I grew up in the 80's listening to Oldies 94.5 in Houston while riding with my dad, and to this day I love the music of that generation. I find myself listening to oldie stations on Sirius more than any other music because it just puts me in a good mood. Curious what some of your favorite songs are from that era. Here are a few I've heard the past few days that even my kids had to admit they liked. I could post the entire Beatles and Stones catalog, but I'll keep my selections to other artists, as there are many to choose from. BTW, I had no idea Steve Winwood was in Spencer Davis group until I looked this song up. Of course he is. It sounds just like him.
  22. I like the line about how Elko has the Ags in really good recruiting position entering the season. I would like to know what he means by that. I guess if they lose a couple games early, the position is "If you come here you have a really good chance to start next season."
  23. Holy shit. Literally 2 days ago I was trying to remember Rodney Culver's name. I was listening to an SVPod where they were discussing Fantasy drafts, and I had a flashback when someone tried to draft Culver in the late rounds a few months after he died. I just couldn't remember his name. That was an awkward moment of people looking around deciding if we would tell the guy and let him repick, or make him live with it.
