Trump is the crazy ex they can't quit for a large chunk of this country. They miss him when he's not in the White House, but then he lights everything on fire and everything goes to shit and they remember why they broke up with him in the first place. As long as he's in office, he reminds people weekly of how terrible he is and they don't fondly look back on the good ole days that only exist in their head. Trump in power costs Republicans elections. It's when he's out of office that he helps them. It doesn't make any sense unless you look at from the crazy ex angle.
I have been happy with it too over the last couple years, except that it's now almost exactly twice as expensive as when I started. I'm sure that trend will stop any month now though.
I20 from Texas to Alabama is another terrible drive. Nothing but pine trees for a few hundred miles. We did that one during the height of covid to avoid flying.
I posted this in the old thread about running back.
You can steal a good starting rb from a shitty team or even a good one. Ohio St and Ole Miss have both done it. Michigan poached Justice Haynes from Alabama after Saban retired. There will be options and I think spending a lot for a good one would be a smart move this particular portal period. This team needs an elite back to take it to another level. I like Wisner a lot because he runs hard and is shifty as fuck, but he just doesn't have the top end speed to be a great back.
When my wife was a poor college student, she used to take the bus to go back home to visit her parents and friends. From her terrible stories, you couldn't pay me to take one. I can't imagine they've gotten any better over the last 20 years.
If you have the time, I would watch a few more. I can't hear worth a shit either, but you start to understand what they're saying after a few episodes. It's kind of like the scene where Antonio Banderas starts figuring out Norse in the The 13th Warrior.
LSU is a special case because there's only ever been one major football program in the State and most of the kids grow up wanting to play there along with everyone in the State rooting for them. In the world before NIL, that was a huge advantage.
