  1. No first hand experience. I think generally they look like knockoffs of more expensive watches but not in a good way - garrish and chintzy. Just my opinion. Looks good on you though. [emoji23] It seems people who have them seem to like them. And I've been known to be wrong. Are you looking for a Chronograph specifically?
  2. Daily. I truly appreciate the mechanical craftsmanship and design of mechanical watches. As a result I don't have many mass-produced watches and focus on independents. I also appreciate that I can actually talk with the watchmakers themselves and understand their vision and inspiration and develop a long term relationship. Means more to me than watches that roll off an assembly line. Hand craftsmanship is a dying art.
  3. I have probably 50 or 60 game programs from the 40s through the 90s. A signed formal from Vince Young. A signed helmet from Colt McCoy, and a football from the win over Temple in the 40s. Also an assortment of other paraphernalia.
  4. Hit up Potente last week and the service and food were exceptional. Did not have dessert though which I will rectify next time.
  5. Yes, it's fine. If I could go anywhere in town, I'm not going there, but if I'm looking to go within a few minutes of Nottingham Forest, then yes. It isn't as good as Jonathan's. It's on par with Hungry's and UAK. None are winning awards but they are all pretty good places to grab a bite. If he wants fine dining, then there are certainly other options, but it sounded like he was asking about neighborhood restaurants. Feel free to enlighten me. What are all the great semi-casual dining spots within 5 or so minutes of Nottingham Forest?
  6. Los Tios And you shouldn't be a Los Tios family. La Fiesta 1A, La Hacienda 1B... Los Tios C. Bacaro is pretty good. Urban American Kitchen is as well. Pizarro's is overrated and overpriced. Hungry's has some good food. Drive down Memorial to Jonathan's or The Union Kitchen. Jonathan's in particular is outstanding.
  7. There are tons of Spinnakers available at around that price and they are having a 25% sale. Sapphire crystal, automatic movement, 100m or more of water resistance, lots of models to choose from and with the discount under many are under $300. https://spinnaker-watches.com/pages/4th-of-july-sale
  8. If anyone is looking for a relatively standard field watch with some very nice finishing touches, Wasson Watch Company makes a Field Watch. They are offering $300 off for Father's Day. Code Dad23.
  9. Yes, one of the originals. You can see how the design language carries through, but certainly modified over the years. Great looking watch! I'm super pumped about the DRZ02 Aerolite. But I like funky watches.
  10. I don't have one of his watches, but it's on the list. He does great work. Beautiful finishing. Be careful though. If you stumbled across Felipe Pikulik then you're entering a whole new world of small independent brands. I hope you have a well paying gig.
  11. Latest acquisition. The DRZ03 Eclipse with meteorite dial. I'm usually not a fan of Meteorite dials, but this one is so subtle I like it. Direnzo is probably my favorite microbrand.
  12. Thank you, I will try James add well as minute man. And I'll pass along your name to James.
  13. Thanks man, I'll give them a call. And Surly certainly didn't disappoint with the other suggestions. Might have to resign my card after watching Your Business Card is Crap.
  14. Any recommendations? Looking for thick stock, embossed, with a very detailed logo. I've been told by the designer it may not be possible with hot stamping and may require gilding from thin mints without a matrix. He also mentioned digital and offsetting. I don't know what any of that means. Tried Alpha Graphics and they really couldn't do it so looking for someone else to contact.
  15. Absolutely new or just mint with all boxes and papers? And what are you looking for specifically? I have a few contacts I can see if they can get one for you. Takuya and David SW are definitely reputable. Chrono24 is worth looking around but they charge a fee to sellers so y may not be willing to drop as much knowing they are taking the hit. That said, if it's a company/dealer selling it they will indicate that at the bottom of the listing. Call them direct and they can avoid that fee.
  16. I like scratched face dials and I like the original Sinn U50 scratched face dial that came out a few years ago. But this dial looks like shit. Probably why he's selling it. This is an ochs und junior with a scratched face dial. Much more even and subtle effect. It can be more pronounced in different lights but that Sinn is just a mess. Here's one of the originals, which I like.
  17. Yep, love my anOrdain and it's a great value for the customization options available. I'm a huge fan of independent watchmaking. If anyone in this thread likes independents, I've been building a community for independent watchmakers and enthusiasts. Still in the early stages but feel free to DM if you're interested.
  18. Yeah, I messaged the Music supervisor. Found a website he apparently uses but no real way to search easily. Basic or not, I love it. Thanks for checking. I'll see if he responds.
  19. So in episode 6 of season 2, there's an instrumental while they show the living fence. Right at the 30 minute mark. Anyone have any idea what this song is? Soundshound/Shazam/Google were unsuccessful.
  20. I like Alpina, but no experience owning one. There's a guy on YouTube who is a big fan, Pete McConville. A watch channel worth...drumroll...watching.
  21. Actually it was over an 80% increase when they announced the MOU back in January. That's the fun of stonks.
  22. Amy bumped with the notice they had entered into a Memorial of Understanding. I would imagine at the end of that there will be a contract agreement and I hope that is the instigator. Latest news was that the pilot plant was operating and recovering as intended. Hopefully soon something official is announced. Maybe @Harrison Stafford has more info.
  23. I sold 40% as it's gone up. Sold 60% of what was remaining this morning at $3 and then another 20% at 2.86. I'll hold the remaining 20%. Bought in at $2 originally and then a couple other times near $1. So I'll take the win and let the rest ride.
