  1. Just started watching this last night with the kids, whole family is really loving it. We got to episode 4, will likely finish the rest tonight.
  2. Personally I'm omitting them from a discussion like this, I don't think they're quite in the spirit. Although even so, there are still a great many Greatest Hits/Anthologies/Compilations that still have tracks I'll skip. It's pretty rare for me to love every song on a record, or every hit from an artist.
  3. Old Guard SEC just doesn't get how little Texas cares about being in the SEC. I mean, it's fine, we're making more money and we get games against some new faces, but there's absolutely no pride or ego tied up in being associated with this conference. Texas is carrying the banner for Texas and nothing else.
  4. Well, that IS the point of this thread after all... Most of mine are already listed. I found that I missed the days of listening to entire albums all the way through, enough that I dusted off my old turntable and receiver/amp and speakers, and set them up in a separate room. It's the parlor or the lounge or as my wife calls it, "the drinking room." That's where the 18 year old Scotch resides, and my album collection. I'm not a huge "vinyl is the only medium with soul" kind of guy, but I find that getting away from the media room with the TV and all the streaming apps, forces me to relax, slow down, and approach music in a way that makes me appreciate the more subtle points. Although I'll still blast No Sleep Til Brooklyn with the best of them, when we get to that point on License To Ill.
  5. Man, No Rain was the only track on that album I didn't hate. But it takes all kinds. I've never seen them live or heard anything else they made, so perhaps there's something more to it.
  6. Who lets Steve Guttenburg move our cars? We Do, We Do!
  7. Heh, I just re-read through this thread and if you go back to 2020, you had the exact same response when I mentioned Play Deep. I'm not dragging you, because I completely agree, that's a cool-ass track. Recently (like, within the last 5 years) I heard some cover of it that was really good, but I don't remember who did it. Google search didn't turn up the one I remember, though it turned up several.
  8. Blind Mellon would like to have a word with both of you. That show sucked, but with the 2.5 solid days of rain, that weekend was already such a beating. I was just glad I'd bought the tickets for the race weekend itself and didn't consider the concert as part of my cash outlay, otherwise I'd have been REALLY pissed.
  9. Well, I can't say it's surprising this thread hasn't been posted on in almost 2 years... But anyway, my Liverpool-loving nephew invited me to watch Sunday's match with him over at BD Riley's, knowing that I didn't know it was a Liverpool bar. Joke's on him though, the hapless Red Devils tied his golderned pudlians, and ruined his big plan to drag me in front of his whole crew.
  10. Man I am feeling so much better about this game, now. All we need is a "ballgame" proclamation and I'll go bet the house on the Horns.
  11. Freedmen's. It was actually quite good, I had it many many tiers higher than Mickelthwait which was quite disappointing the 2 times I gave them a chance. Their messed up ordering system resulted in extremely long waits, for cold food. It was bizarre and I never went back.
  12. A friend of mine brought me back a set of these from Russia many years ago. The largest one was Hodges Mitchell, the smallest was Casey Hampton.
  13. Good question. If this were like a normal bowl they'd be there almost a week ahead of time for all of the press and photo ops and trips to whatever the Dallas version of Disneyland is. But since this is the third round of CFP games, I don't know how they're managing it.
  14. 4 quarters of our offense scoring at least 2 TDs per quarter, while the defense allows no more than 1.5 points per quarter. Final score no closer than 56-6. Obviously.
  15. Could it end up being that flying in from the midwest ends up easier than driving in from Austin, Houston, and other parts of Texas?
  16. Michigan State will never be a more important football program than Michigan. UCLA will never be a more important football program than USC. Auburn will never be a more important football program than Alabama. This is the nature of being a little brother to a blueblood. It will never change.
  17. I think the graphic was supposed to represent the divide between Texas and Oklahoma, not where the game is played.
  18. Queso on CFS is delicious.
  19. @HenryJames must be on a 4-day bender as a result of the Peach Bowl...
  20. They tried to open an Underwood's in Austin 40 years ago. It didn't take.
