Wow that's a startling image. It shows as closed, as do several other points along 1431. I wonder if any of the rest are destroyed,

Negative Recruiting Your Own School: The aggy Screenshot Megathread
Lulz. Isn't this the recruitment where the player's dad publicly stated he was glad Michigan didn't roll out with goats and other stupid gimmicky shit?

For sure, each incremental foot of lakerise requires more and more water. But I won't be surprised if it reaches or gets close to 660 now, at this point.

680 is considered full. Right now it's still 30 feet low and that's less than 50% I think, so they wouldn't likely consider releasing at any point during this event.

YW. And I just realized you typed Tyler not Taylor, so bolverk's link will be of more use than mine.

Lot of flooding in Liberty Hill/Leander. You can use this website to check for road closures which will also help determine where the conditions are deteriorated in general. https://atxfloods.com/ I drove down to South Austin and back to the Cedar Park area earlier today and aside from rain bands, the roads were fine. I was entirely on major roads of course.

Lake Travis now above 651. That's ~13.5 feet since 8 AM yesterday. And both Hamilton Creek and Big Sandy still running at almost 50K cfs.

Damn he pisses me off he's so good. Race should be fun, any weather expected at kickoff?

3-2-1 Ribs
225 is pretty much foolproof, that's why it's so commonly used. If you get an odd temperature flare-up at 225 and it gets to 300, no big deal. If you get one at 300 and it spiked to 375, that can be more problematic. So for beginners or folks who don't know their pit that well, 225 works really well.

Yeah I thought of that plaque as well. We camp at Ped Falls at least once per year. The past several it's been sad, barely any water. But I've seen it flooding like this before, too. Water moving so fast and heavy you can't even see the falls, it just looks like a small bump-down in the river level.

Ha! Yup. Pouring. Over 5" since Thursday night.

2025 Thread of the Rains
Truly tragic events have unfolded and it's heartbreaking. People are sad, and mad, and that's to be expected. I'd like to ask everyone to please keep this thread clear of infighting and finger-pointing and especially keep it clear of cloak room stuff. There are plenty of other forums and threads to discuss all of that. Anyway, pouring rain again at my house, it's almost as dark as night, and every single drop here, will go straight into Lake Travis.

F1 - Apple
Saw it Thursday night and really enjoyed it. The story was fine, nothing groundbreaking but well done for what it was. And the film and sound work were incredible. There were times when they made the racecars sound like monsters, fire-breathing dragons and such. Cool stuff.

2025 Thread of the Rains
Yeah I'm near that 3.8 on the far right, along Cypress Creek. We've had a lot of rain but just to the west of us over in Jonestown/Big Sandy they've had a lot more. Big Sandy Creek running at 48K cfs and it's starting to rain again, predictions are for some of the heaviest rain we've seen yet between now and noon. I'm reading that 1431 is closed at Lago Vista. I think it's possible it'll rise another 10' today, it's about to start raining heavy again, on the same areas north of the lake.

As mentioned above, I don't recall ever seeing Cow Creek and Big Sandy with these kinds of flow rates.

He's annoying and a bit of a poser. Back when NBC had the broadcast rights, he was part of their crew. He's just a little... smarmy, I guess, would be an apt descriptor.
