  1. All those New Orleans artists and street musicians have Philosophy PhD's, I assumed everyone knew that?
  2. Nice. Except they shoulda slow-mo'd him cresting the rise with the golden sunset and giant Texas flag blowing in the breeze, as the lead guitar kicks in.
  3. Ok well at least now it's all settled and won't ever need to be discussed again...
  4. Yeah that doesn't really appear to be random, does it? We don't play everyone twice in men's basketball, I wonder why they decided to have us play Houston twice and get one game at home, rather than a single game, @Houston, like they did in women's basketball?
  5. I mean, it makes sense that the only American team would have a protectionist attitude about it. But, not totally sucking, might have helped them out a bit.
  6. From a pure business standpoint good luck getting customers through the door with that offering.
  7. I love throwing some cornbread in the bottom of the bowl, and then scooping out the chili-inundated mixture. Some chopped onions and cheddar cheese on top are always welcome.
  8. I had this one (some of you probably did, too): This used to just be a poster. Now, I call it "@G650's garage."

    Tex Mex

Berryhill was terrible. My parents organized family dinners there, twice. It sucked both times. I told them Never Again!
  10. An old fart for sure. University of Texas Electrical Engineer, 1994. utee94 But that just means, I grew up during the GOOD years, before kids' lives were dominated by video games and smart phones and social media.
  11. They'd have to pay the secretary an extra 37 cents to write out "Nine hundred ninety nine million, nine hundred ninety ninety nine thousand, nine hundred ninety nine, and ninety nine cents." Oh yeah, that was me. Alongside my wife... Morgan Fairchild...
  12. I prefer 80s over 90s and I'm not sure it can get anymore 80s than this:
  13. Always does on this specific topic. That said, the thread title is explicit and is obviously, specifically referring to Texas chili, as we all know. Anyone debating putting green peas into the fucking chili, is just being an asshole. Which is, of course, quite appropriate for this site. Carry on, surly assholes.
  14. How much for just one Rib...bee's?
  15. Since this is a Sprint weekend and qualy is on Friday, I'm expecting bigger crowds than there would be for a normal P1/P2 Friday. However, there's obviously a lot of supply available and actual ticket prices are dropping, so hopefully that means a less crowded Friday and a less crowded weekend than the past 2 years. Hopefully the DtS and post-COVID bubble has burst and we can get back to actually being able to walk around the track on race weekend.
  16. Jeeps have plenty of problems but I love them. Our 2017 Wrangler is awesome, no problems so far, and someday I'm going to buy the 1978 CJ-5 Renegade that my best friend drove in high school, just as soon as his dad decides to let it go. It's old but a real survivor. Anyway, I really hate the look of those 90s Nissan 300ZX but I really love THIS car, which my next door neighbor drove:
  17. There's a Dell-McLaren thing again this year but it's Dell-specific. Since there's no DannyRic, I won't be attending.
  18. Well of course it is, they run the 9-0-2 defense. Who WOULDN'T think facing 9 DL instead of 3-4 is tough???
  19. Army vs. Navy (FIL was army and is awesome) Alabama vs. Auburn (don't really care but Alabama's dynasty needs to be broken) Michigan vs. Ohio State (easy choice, Michigan is the Texas of the Big Ten, Ohio State is the ousux of the Big Ten) USC vs. Notre Dame (ND can DIAF) Florida vs. Georgia (eh) Miami vs. Florida State (I was at the 1991 Cotton Bowl) Cal vs. Stanford (Stanford was my safety school and still has a special place in my heart) Oregon vs. Washington (Duck uniforms can DIAF) Arkansas vs. Texas A&M (eclipse blindness for all) Mississippi State vs. Ole Miss (Hotty Toddy coeds) Edit: Sorry missed the no meteor rule, fixed it
  20. Precedent was set, proof is in the pudding, do not pass go and do not collect $43M.
  21. People who don't understand this, really just have no clue how the bowl games were viewed, at the time. Notre Dame didn't attend bowl games from 1925 through 1968. The Big Ten limited its conference allotment to only one single bowl team per season, until 1975. You really can't look at college football 50+ years ago through a 2023 lens. It's silly. On the other hand, claiming a national championship for a year when nobody recognized you at the time, is just plain stupid. Who on earth would do such a thing?
