  1. Yes, it's equally stupid which is why I don't use it. But like @jimmyjazz said, it's a small minority of Texas fans on a couple of message boards in a tiny corner of the internet. Aggies use "tu" ubiquitously, in pretty much all social situations, including and especially when it's awkward or completely inappropriate-- for example business meetings with people from a wide variety of educational backgrounds that don't understand and don't care about any silly regional college rivalries.
  2. They might start by actually just calling it UT or Texas. Having a specific pejorative name for tu just underscores the little brother mentality. Even when they're arguing to establish their own identity, they just can't help but undermine it with little brotherisms. It's in their DNA and I don't suspect it will ever change.
  3. We got a sack from Fiesta and did a boil on Saturday, they were still pretty small but I don't think I had to toss a single one as bad.
  4. This Daily Texan thread-- which is supposed to be a "news" thread about the goings-on in China-- has been coopted by a known ledge-jumping raving lunatic pushing his own political ideology and agenda, over and over and over again. I'm going to have to disagree that the comments and the conversation aren't political. The thread-shitting is tired and incredibly annoying. I don't ever go to the cloak room because I have no desire for a political discussion on this message board forum. But I have to imagine there are plenty of threads discussing these exact topics, over there, in the appropriate forum for them.
  5. JFC take it to the goddamn cloak room you half-witted ledge-jumping gooftard.
  6. Red Rubis are the best!
  7. The Pits were all franchised with very little oversight and had wildly different quality from site to site. Richard Jones owned a few but most of the others were single-owners. Some of them were actually pretty good.
  8. Other Austin BBQ joints in the 80s and 90s were Ironworks, Poke-E-Jo's, Green Mesquite, and various locations of The Pit.
  9. Beach volleyball, imo
  10. If you're referring to armybrat, I believe his great great grandkids fought in the Spanish-American war.
  11. I have to work today but we'll be taking our trailer out to my BIL's property outside of Fredericksburg this week. Just gonna chill, ride the ATVs, have bonfires, shoot guns, drink whiskey. The usual. Well, the kids probably won't drink whiskey. Probably... Edited-- well, maybe not bonfires under current conditions. Might just be the propane fire ring, but we'll still manage.
  12. Sorry about all the troubles. Boating and RVing, just a huge money sink. But I wouldn't want to live without 'em. Enjoy the coast!
  13. Are you in Switzerland right now, or is that a shot of Lake Travis from 1983?
  14. Yup, back ribs at CL. I haven't bothered with them since maybe 1991. The bread is tasty though.
  15. And a tilting surface with random spikes that pop up!
  16. I remember a quote off their message board the day after the bonfire collapsed, one of them said, "well, we just won the sip game, at least."
  17. Thunder but only a trace of rain in NW Travis. Happy for those that got some, though.
  18. Seriously though, I'm sorry that happened to you. I'd be honest with the guy. If he's done good work for you before, then he HAS to know that this isn't right.
  19. I like the show enough that I'll give it a chance. If it's horrible I'll just pretend the series ended earlier, like I do with GoT.
  20. The article is referring to EU sanctions on the export of chromium to Russia, as was I.
  21. ^^^ All of that is good. Also, how old are the tires? I'm sure you already know, but mileage/tread is rarely the thing that causes end-of-life for RV tires. I change all of my trailer tires (boat, RV, flatbed cargo trailer) every 5 years regardless of mileage or wear.
  22. Man, sanctions on the export of chromium to Russia sound absolutely GREAT for Ukraine's cause. Also seems like something that should have been done... you know... 3 years ago.
  23. Loved seeing the Ozzie V8s when they came to Austin many years ago.
  24. It's raining it's pouring the old man is snoring talk not going away.
