  1. PM Derka?
  2. Yes inverter generators are far superior in noise reduction and efficiency. And these days the off-brands like the one Eddie posted above, are actually not totally cheap pieces of crap. There was a time 20 years ago when you absolutely had to go with Honda or Yamaha, but these days there are many brands that are much cheaper and similarly reliable. For home emergency temporary use, I understand why people still buy the old-style loud AF open-frame generators. But for camping and tailgating, I strongly suggest the inverter style, unless you want your neighbors to murder you in your sleep and/or after you pass out.
  3. Shoot, I was just thinking there was too much English and not enough español on that sign...
  4. Yeah thanks, but I have no intentions of letting a 16yo boy convert his first car into a track car. A nice, stock, few-year-old base model is what he'd be getting, at best. When he's out of my hair and on his own, he can do whatever he likes to the car.
  5. Texas controlled the game from the start. Texas went up 28-7 about 4 minutes into the 4th quarter, and then Turtle Tom did what he does. Georgia scored at the 10:25 mark to make it 28-14, and then scored a garbage TD with a few seconds left in the game to make it 28-21. But anyone who watched that game knows that Texas whipped that ass.
  6. Sure! Here's a picture of one:
  7. 1.1" in a little under an hour at my house here in NW Travis, and still going. It's never going to stop raining!
  8. Gen Y is the original term, simply because it came after Gen X. "Millennials" was a later designation that ended up sticking. Similarly, some folks are now trying to call Gen Z the "Zoomers." But I'm not sure if that one will stick, in the way Millennials did.
  9. Why do you insist on asking the question when you already know the answer? It's never going to rain again.
  10. My 14yo son is getting into cars, as his 16th birthday approaches. Recently he's decided he really loves the Toyota GR86 and its twin sister-car the Subaru BRZ. They each feature a Subaru flat 4 as the power plant, so this hits close to home (maybe, in a year or so).
  11. I can tell you if my wife saw Ring video from our front doorstep of some masked person dropping off a note in the wee hours of the morning, she'd freak the fuck out and wouldn't feel at all safe for quite some time. It doesn't matter one bit what some internet message board dorks think about the level of severity of that threat, it only matters what the people inside that house feel about it.
  12. Got a quick pop-up with some small hail (dime-sized) last night up here in NW Travis Co. Only 0.07" of rain, though.
  13. No way man. Other than the message board cripple fight amongst a few misguided folks, the content is pure gold, Jerry!
  14. Well he's been trying to assassinate the president of Ukraine for over 2 years now, so...
  15. Thanks for the recommendation, I'll definitely check it out. I love reading their story.
  16. Well the space is already built out for BBQ. I should open a BBQ restaurant there. Surely it would work for ME...
  17. Binged it over the past week and really enjoyed it. I never played the games, my video gaming days ended with Doom in the early 90s. But of course there were definitely some Doom vibes in this show. Looking forward to S2.

    Outlander

Between those, and the Scottish history, I enjoyed the first few seasons well enough. Ultimately I got bored after season 4 or 5. My wife continued watching without me.
  19. Yup that's the way mine works. You'll get quicker and quicker at removing and replacing those slide in windows. I bought a special carrier bag that fits behind the back seats, that they slip into so I can take them with me. It keeps them upright just behind the seats, so it doesn't intrude on the cargo space much at all.
  20. My wife's cousins have a booth up there, so she goes to visit them occasionally and I've never once had to make the trip. She only comes home with a couple of useless items every now and then, so I count myself lucky. Yup I like T22 and dang hot is plenty. I'm not 22 anymore, I don't need to attempt to make the Wall at Plucker's or anything.
