Losers always whine about their best.
It’s certainly more enjoyable than my average day... reading philosophy, avoiding gang rape in the washrooms... though, it's less of a problem these days… Maybe I'm losing my sex appeal.

Pretty blatant message about the dangers of AI this week. Otherwise not a lot happened. BTW: team ahole Carol for any activity in the cold.

All Things Brisket
I just don’t see how you comfortably get a big packer on one of those. The BGE grate is 18” and it’s completely jammed in there. And you have the same problem with the fire being below.

We always marveled in college (early 90s) that it didn’t matter what you ordered at Taco Bell it was always about $4. That and the $2.99 two-cheeseburger meal at McDonald’s were staples, drunk or sober. Back when you could pay for dinner with the change in your car’s ashtray.

Apologies if this is heresy but are pellet smokers any good for brisket? My large BGE is not ideal. It’s hard to get a big packer on there and inevitably the bottom and edges get too hot. Neighbors like but I I know it can be better. Best I ever made was on a big offset but I don’t want one of those.

The movie you just watched
The Thing From Another World, 1951. It’s the film that inspired the 1984 remake which is my all time favorite horror movie. James Arness plays the thing. I recorded it from TCM the other day. It’s a different take on the plot and a fun little black and white flick. I’d never heard of Margaret Sheridan but what a charming young actress. Apparently she turned down a big role in a John Wayne film because she was pregnant, and as a result her career never took off. But some think she could have been just as big as any of her silver screen starlets. She died in the 80s at 55 from lung cancer. It’s a shame everyone smoked back then.

A lot of cars / vehicles are traveling at low enough speeds for the occupant(s) to survive a crash, or are even sitting still. Lots of injuries for sure but I don’t think every car crash or even the majority would be fatal.

On the individuality topic: everyone still has different styles, they wear different things, etc. I wonder if that’s an inconsistency in the story, a sign that each individual retains a little of themselves, just the circumstances (there hasn’t been enough time to homogenize), or what. Lots of interesting questions on this show. I’m looking forward to more. Btw it’s not hard to get the next episode spoiled so I would avoid even looking at the synopsis or watching the next-week preview.- MACtion is BACKtion!!!
There are pretty good streams for both games on YouTube if you are still ESPN deprived.- Alien TV series. Hawley. FX.

Feisty makes sense but she’s kind of an asshole. She doesn’t seem to understand that for a huge portion of the global population, this new world would be a vast improvement. She also doesn’t seem to have a single friend or loved one in her life besides her dead girlfriend. If this happened and everyone you ever knew (minus 1/8th of the world) was telling you it was awesome you’d be curious.- Christy starring Sydney Sweeney
She’s not bad in Americana, which I only heard of because I saw it on a plane when I had watched almost everything else.- Fast Food guilty pleasures
I’ve never in my life had a McRib. I think that growing up on a hog farm and being somewhat of a pork bbq snob it has always offended me a little.- Pluribus - Vince Gilligan and Rhea Seehorn
I’m unfamiliar with her work. Seems like she could be intense.- Pluribus - Vince Gilligan and Rhea Seehorn
All interesting theories but in an interview the lead actress said that no matter what you think, the story isn’t what you think it is. So we’ll see. It does seem like almost a billion deaths is a lot. Could there really have been that many people who were in precarious situations when it all happened? How long were the people incapacitated, like five minutes? That wouldn’t have crashed all the airplanes and not every car accident would have been fatal. The other allegory that I was thinking about is that this is what the world would be like when AI is everywhere. Just a bunch of sycophants trying to make you happy all the time.- Holiday Travel F-d? FAA Turkey Day Boogaloo!
The Flighty app is awesome but even if you don’t want to subscribe their Twitter feed is good- Netflix Recommendations
