10% stunt, 90% premeditated assault.
for those not following the story closely, the full story reveals itself in jackson's own livestream.
jackson was invited to meet the wrestlers before the scheduled show as a guest. because he had his livestream cameraman in tow, one of the wrestler thought they were being filmed for a backstage promo, and flattened a soda can on jacksons head as an introduction. very very obviously a fake, non-damaging blow.
jackson wanted to fight the wrestler immediately, for real, while the wrestler was genuinely wondering why jackson wasnt playing along with the hit.
the owner broke up the scuffle and explained that jackson was not part of the act ("hes not a 'worker' "). but he arranged that jackson can join as a guest by running in the ring and fake-attack the wrestler before other 'workers' intervened. they all shook hands on it.
privately, another wrestler told jackson that hes allowed to sneak in a real hit to get retribution. in wrestling parlance this is turning a work into a shoot. it means you genuinely slap a guy around for a bit, not attempt to literally murder him. but in jacksons head, and as he admitted to his livestream audience, hes going in there to genuinely fuck this guy up.... and later, you saw what you saw.
