  1. Yup. Remember the purpose of playoff is to determine competition-based champion. That a left-out TX or BYU could have destroyed JMU/Tulane, or even beaten Tamu/Bama doesnt matter. Decades of playoff history says their chances of winning subsequent games to take the cha, Yes. Reason for bye isnt out of motivation to reward certain teams. Its a consequence of supporting odd number of matchups from the 6 true qualifying teams. 8 is fine too. Obv football cant host a NCAA-like super tourney because the playoff would take forever due to nature of the sport. 6 or 8 teams keep it under 1 month.
  2. I think this is a fun one to show. If your goal is determining who is a champion from historical priors, 4 teams in contention is a solid cutoff. 6 is reasonable and is more commercial. Beyond that it's a statistical improbability and not worth consideration. Notes: -numbers are from AI -NCAAB doubles the conference count of other sporting leagues so seed count is repeated -NFL is probably best comparison because its a single-game format and is literally the same sport
  3. One thing that bothers me as someone who doesn't play musical instruments is watching live performances and not seeing the action sync with the sound. I get that electric instruments have reverb and delay, so the action of a guitarist strumming doesn't match up 1:1 like watching a bassist pluck or a drummer drum, but in my mind it still never jives. For example, the woman in this video is hitting a digital drum pad thing, and I like the song, but my brain keeps on screaming at me "her instrument is fake, shes not playing anything"
  4. 6 teams. #1 and #2 gets a bye. Nobody cares whether it's 11-1 TAMU or 11-1 MISS that gets the snub at #7.

you cant spell oklahoma without ou
  6. That was a serious shot. He gets props for literally taking one on the chin. Boxing didnt exactly have a sterling sporting reputation to have lost anything from that freak show taking place. It’s entertainment and you all watched and talked about it. Myself included. On a related note Jake’s former opponent Tyron Woodley took another L from 50 year old fellow former UFC champ Anderson Silva
  7. Motherfuckers who drive along the freeway shoulder during gridlock traffic. I support laying out puncture strips and destroying all their tires on the 1/1000 chance it affects someone with a legitimate emergency like a hospital delivery.
  8. Was at a museum today trying to check out some serious paintings and half the time, the artworks were blocked by instagramnistas (who were 6.5/10 tops, to be generous) posing in front of them. And not like, heres a quick selfie of me in front of the Caravaggio, but more like, let me spend 5 minutes contorting and posing myself while my cuck bf snap off 30 perfect shots. They should shoot these people on-sight.
  9. You know what this guy would do? Drink Michelob Ultras:

  11. tried to find my favorite islays but none available. grabbed talisker 10 for myself and a buffalo trace as a gift for a friend. sipping on white wine tho
  12. i dont think his flinch/feints worked out very well
  13. europe has this retarded 3-plug adapter where the length-wise orientation blocks the 2nd original wall plug. so in the end you only gain a total of 1 plug.
  14. we can take him as RB5

a stud WR will increase the production of 1 WR. a stud OL will increase the production of all WRs.
  16. These clowns look like the vaguely-Albanian, Eastern European gangster caricatured in every action movie since the 80s
  17. Ive watched enough youtube videos to brainwash myself into thinking its a doable proposition. The annoying part is removing the existing wallpaper in the house. Wife has tricked her dad/my FIL into the task. In hoping he pulls thru.
  18. theres a valid criticism about large unrealized equity gains. however, people are confusing/conflating having equity with being awarded equity, as if stock compensation allows perpetual tax avoidance as a loophole to massive wealth. the advantage of this over cash comp is only tax deferral, for a few years at most - stocks vest and options expire. these awards do get taxed in due time and at fair values. put another way, if these guys were paid the equivalent annual comp in cash, and immediately purchased stock with that cash, both their wealth and the irs receipts would largely end up at the same place. their wealth came from the growth of their companies, not from taxation.
  19. ⚙️+🪙=💰looks like a legit equation
  20. taxation on income works on fair market value of the equity when theyre accessible to the earner. if youre paid “diddly” today, should you be taxed on the basis of $70b that they might be worth 40 years later? if he paid under market price to exercise options, he gets taxed on the difference as ordinary income. if he sells the share later with price appreciation, he gets taxed again on the difference as capital gains. he got paid a $2000m tranche and owes $700m of taxes on it. were you so offended by a statement of fact because you dont understand it? or because you dont like it?
  21. he wasnt paid 75 billion dollars, was he? when even a single dollar worth of shares is actually delivered to him through vesting or exercise, it is taxed. twice probably knows how it works. but you dont.
  22. the donating organization should've piloted giving the coats only to the best looking kids at school first, to destigmatize the garment.

    formidable law-firm name.
  24. Larry exercised some $2B worth of stock options this calendar year which means about a $750M of ordinary income tax liability.
  25. playing catchy-knifey with nflx
