  1. The best source for credit card data is from the consumer finance protection bureau. https://files.consumerfinance.gov/f/documents/cfpb_consumer-credit-card-market-report_2023.pdf My favorite takeaway from this is what the industry call “prime” borrower is actually prime to the lenders: they generate tons of interest fees. Their scores are 660-720. Theres a category above them called “prime plus”; and its not until you get to the “superprime” (800+) who use the card for transacting purposes aka float. They make up 1/3rd of cardholders, not 1/2.

    3D Printing

Real example my niece just got into super mario bros because of the movie, and started grade school this year, so i printed her this pencil holder.

    3D Printing

I expected this to happen but ive already run through 5 spools of filament and steadily printing more. A few things are functional household items like workshop organizers and etc, but most are toys for the little ones in my family: sandcastle molds, model cars, spinning tops, boomerangs, spirographs, articulating figurines, and neat stuff like these surprise eggs most of these work really well, but you also learn the limitations of the materials and process. an unexpected outcome out of all of this is an appreciation for high volume industrial manufacturing. when im looking at my kids hot wheels-sized car thats made out of 4 types of plastics in different colors and finishes and has metal axles and rubber tires that all fits perfectly and survives being stomped on and abandoned in the backyard through multiple winters and costs all of $1 to purchase…in which contains profit for the seller, the distributor, the manufacturer, and everyone in between, its tantamount to a fucking miracle.

    With or without rhinestones?
  5. Denmark for the city Norway for the nature Sweden for neither
  6. All the NBA announcers call dennis schröder “shru - der” 😪
  7. I counted 7 to 11 lashes
  8. Thats what I considered too but I thought it might be unfair to the fishies in there or the other extant turtles and whatever. For sure this bastard just runs on hate. Though what I like to do is in the summer, when I swat the house flies, I feed em to him and it feels like everybody wins.
  9. wtf. if thats real, thats fucked up. that said, we have an aquatic turtle that is mean as fuck and he chewed up the tails of all the other turtles he shared a tank with, so we had to separate him into a tiny barren tank. and hes been there for YEARS cuz the fucker simply refuses to die. i kinda feel bad, but i also dont.
  10. its been surprisingly a very long time since ive really lost anything... but i cant find the most recent shirt i bought, and i cant find a few precious metals things i bought for fun. searched the house up and down. nowhere. theyre not monetarily consequential, but theyre fucking mine and i want them goddamnit and more than that i just want to know where they went
  11. I've never done a cruise, ever, but it might be the better way to get a snapshot of the whole country. I would normally recommend driving, but Norway is longgggcat -- same as Vancouver to San Diego -- and most of the major road (E6) is single lane 80kmh limit. You'd have to fly, drive, fly, drive, to hit the major stops.
  12. 1:50 it wouldn't be a japanese animation without tentacles in it...
  13. this guy has gone through more in 4 years of college than even bru mccoy
  14. 1. There are no big cities in Norway 2. Touristed places are touristed for a reason. Like, the Eiffel tower is touristed...but it's the Eiffel tower. 3. In June/July you'll optimize for most daylight and lowest chance of rain and most glorious sunshine. 4. I don't know if cruises have hikes scheduled but summer is the only window for some popular routes that would otherwise be snow-covered or require guides (eg Trolltunga) 5. Keep in mind many of the 'oh my god' photos you see are from drones or mountain tops, like those of Senja and Lofoten. From ground level you'll have nice views...but not the same postcard views.
  15. Compare the resume/filmography depth of the producers and showrunners of the other SW live action shows: they've all done action/fantasy series. Disney annointing Headland was their version of a Darko Milicic draft pick.
  16. I dont wholly fault Disney. Its a natural response to defend your product when it goes sour. They simply followed where they thought the money will be, and when it turned out the show was a flopped, they pulled the plug. It is a media thing, where they are over-represented by fanatic ideologues wielding 'bigotry' as a cudgel. Or they amplify the voices of those who are. Because it isnt just with the Disney/SW products -- remember Captain Marvel? Ghostbusters reboot? Hell, remember Charlie Strong Texas Football? The arbiters of good taste and exemplary morals says no, no, it's not that the product is bad causing your dislike, it must be your latent hatred of xxx marginalized groups....in this case millionaire producers, actors, and coaches. And if that is in fact true for 1 person out of a hundred million, that'll be the cherry they pick to poison the well for everyone else. Ignore those 'negative shitbags' and let them wallow in their self-righteousness.
  17. no hesitation on that response
  18. We ended up in Crikvenica this summer. It was insanely hot. Pros are calm waters, no waves, perfect for the kids. Cons are all rocky beaches, no sands. Might hit up the Black Sea next summer just to change it up a bit.
  19. no, fuck no, and anyone who believes it is a cunt. language is flexible and thus its interpretation malleable: it depends on speaker, audience, formality, and other context. whether its offensive is like porn: you'll know it when you see it. we have social contest at work tracking volunteered step-count to encourage fitness. tallies are compared against different work teams, buildings, but also between "guys" vs "girls". nobody is offended. its a casual way to refer to a group without needing to be all corpo-formal about it. that said, if i was referring to the fact that a colleague in specific did something, i wouldn't call that person a "girl", nor would i call her a "woman" in the same manner i wouldnt call out a "man" either. the gender serves no purpose for that use so i would simply say "a clerk is pulling that for me".
