  1. We need to practice the 3 point play too.
  2. And yet that drive and yesterday were still very similar. What’s my take? he’s young, inexperienced and the game hasn’t slowed down for him yet, especially against elite defenses that can scheme. honestly, not surprising to me at all.
  3. You take the premise that Texas out performed UGA2 and both tOSU games then it comes down to red zone and his fourth and go for its specifically. If Texas performed 50/50 in the red zone, even with arch’s nonsense we win. and imo, when the team is struggling you have to scheme to win. Texas was so far from winning those three games and yet “this close” too if sark wasn’t a fucking meathead in the red zone. Sark failed big time.
  4. If this year plays out like yesterday, he will be the DC on two of our top five defenses of all time. He’s definitely not the issue and frankly why and what’s required to have a shot at a title. He’s A+ legit.
  5. Sark needs to take the three NFL offenses he wants to most resemble or that (if his ego is in the way) he thinks most resemble his offense and he needs to take every single play inside the red zone and inside the 5 as well as all of their 4th and go for its and analyze the fuck out of those plays and pick 20 of them. And QB sneaks and TB dives don’t count. or realize Texas 4th and go for it analytics are so atrocious the right decision is take the FG and move on. he’s so fucking infuriating.
  6. Yesterday is exactly what we saw when he had one drive against uga at home. The only thing that worked was his scrambling. He’s too inexperienced right now for the big time. Hopefully we get there with him over the course of the season.
  7. Here’s my concern - we all knew arch needed to be a game manager - and the OL actually played pretty well - no sacks (maybe 1 for no loss), limited pressures and a decent running outcome. Arch was playing like dog shit. tOSU was dropping in coverage making it really hard for Arch. putting aside the 1-4 scoring in the red zone, we had some offense working. Hell we racked up over 300 yards. so what is my concern? tOSU *gave* us 4.5 yards per carry or we made that happen - doesn’t matter - keep taking it until the safeties have to come up. Be boring, run the ball. the reality is the championship teams win with defense. EVERY offense struggles against elite defenses. And if you can eek out a decent clip running the ball and get to the red zone four times and take the points you can win even when you struggle. so putting aside the red zone shit brigade, and sark’s addiction to going for it and aversion to the FG, my biggest concern is he won’t lean heavily on the run game when it’s working regardless of why it’s working. And took 2 points off the board.
  8. Not bad at all and I can’t carry a tune for nothing but it fit well.
  9. I don’t think we can say this is his peak, Kirby and Day were both here for years before breaking through. Doesn’t make it any less frustrating. I do think an OC would be better and a dual threat QB too used as one but neither of those are going to happen.
  10. More career but as an entrepreneur it’s all interrelated - I was a 6th year senior associate at a very large international law firm and had the chance to follow a partner to Dubai. I sad no but had I done that I would have been able to punch a ticket to Hong Kong, London, then NY on the come home tour before settling back in Austin to retire. I *might* retire now with more money than that path but as of right now no. Instead two years later I left that firm and embarked on my entrepreneurial career which has had more ups and downs than a roller coaster at six flags, including steep downs the last 3-4 years in real estate. I’m making some moves for my last major decade of work and they should be really great and will help me finish a career to be very proud of but I’ll always wonder what if i’d gone to Dubai.
  11. That’s defensible but he’s addicted to going for it.
  12. With this defense? Yeah 3 points is huge. Is it correct we had 4 red zone opportunities? Scored only 7? That’s infuriating.
  13. He said it like that meant they would be objective or favor Texas
  14. I had a really odd feeling too. I didn’t think we’d lose necessarily but it was a glitch in the matrix for sure. Fuuuuuuck.
  15. I liked what I saw from fsu for a game 1.
  16. More likely a brittle pretzel stick
  17. I just posed this question in the sark dominance thread. He needs to add these for the games like these where either the D is all world or the QB is struggling. It’s fine to base out of routes designed to hit the players in stride but that’s a lot to ask against the elite defenses. Even these tOSU receivers had the benefit of these easier to complete routes.
  18. And Fox told us the refs were from the SEC multiple times
  19. I’m watching bama try to put together a drive and they are running routes and coming back and sitting for the qb - I know sark likes to hit receivers in motion but for the love of Christ I think this would be good.
  20. Watching other teams today is making me ragey
  21. You’d think an all world talent 3 years in to the program could put some touch on the ball at this point in his career. Might fuck up progressions or pre snap reads but a basic touch pass? He should have that now.
  22. FSU has one of the best offensive minds …. and play callers in the business in Gus Malzahn at OC, I mean he’s no Sark but….
  23. Fair. And I said decent and if you can run for 4.5 and the pass game sucks ass keep running for 4.5 until you get the safeties to creep up. Sarks absolute failure to game this out today was utter fucking trash.
  24. 100% especially when the coach says he’s ready and has faced this pressure all his life blah blah. Sark looked like a fucking idiot and a middle manager that was totally unprepared in a presentation to the board. Just baboon level performance. Troof
