  1. I can only assume that some of you guys don't watch much football, in which case, the events probably do seem very bang-bang. On the other hand, watch football every weekend for 10 years or more and no, that was no close. That no call was egregious.
  2. Depending on the games you want to run, a much better way would be to install a Hypervisor under Windows 10 and create an Virtual Machine. Install XP in said VM and run the games there. VMware Player is free for personal use and would fit nicely with what you want to do. Some higher-end games don't like VMs and want more direct access to a GPU; assuming these are games from the XP time frame, that probably shouldn't be a problem.
  3. Dude is 6'4" 190lbs, but on an NBA court he looks downright scrawny. You're making bank now, mix in a sandwich my friend.
  4. I was in pretty much the same boat. Last September my bathroom scale spoke to me and said "Damn, boy you're a fat-ass". Started walking then running. I completely second the recommendation on the Hal Higdon (free) training programs. I did two marathons using those a decade and a half ago, and am using one now for my training Goals: Austin Half Marathon (Feb 17th), Paris Half Marathon (Mar 10th)
  5. If you can't follow IKEA instructions, you have a 2nd grade education, or you have ADHD. There aren't even any words in the instructions, it's all pictures.
  6. So the white guy in the red truck was just an innocent bystander running for safety but was mistaken by multiple witnesses for the shooter and was actually a violent racist criminal arrested a short time later for unrelated crimes? Um, yeah,, probably not.
  7. sketch from page 1 of the alleged shooter: White trash arrested around the time of the shooting.... but NOT the shooter.... Gold star to the police artist.... I'm not clear how this white guy fits in with the 7 year old's murder..... There is clearly more to this story
  8. 52, and my weight had been climbing for years. Mid-september I hit 230 and decided I got get serious this time. I signed up for a half marathon that day, but had to walk to lose the first 10 lb before I could actually start jogging again. Dropped 38.6 lb by the end of the year ( 3.5 months). At 189 now, heading for 175. That said, getting old sucks. Even with exercise, if I eat more than about a thousand calories a day I don't lose weight. I now live vicariously through my kids watching them eat pizza.
  9. 6 minutes to kill..... Kill it like a <insert some PC-acceptable thing here>.
  10. I had Texas winning 31- 28 in the Contest Thread..... While it's be cool to win the week, I'd be happier if it never gets that close.
  11. I didn't realize it was Fox that started the time and score on the screen at all times. I remember seeing that for the first time and it being so awesome. It was one of those things you look at it and go why wasn't it always like this
  12. From 2014 to November of this year I read as many world war I books as I could fit in. No matter how much you read, it's just not the same as seeing video of the people fighting the war looking right at the camera knowing they're going to die. the part after the movie where Peter Jackson talks about making it is also fantastic. Not for everyone, but if you're an educated person A+.
  13. As good as coach Herman's quote was, there's no doubt that Sam's quote to the midget after the OU win is far better.
  14. This times 1000. That first trailer with the preachy-ass "humans are a virus" crap was beyond terrible. I hope they re-cut the move and took all that out.
  15. While it does feel like there are to many SEC players on the list, as far as Texas goes, I'm not sure we have anyone who _should_ be on the list. Sam had a nice year, as did Lil'Jordan, C. Johnson, and a few guys on D, but there wasn't really anyone this year that felt "All-American".
  16. I spent a lot of time a month or so back looking at running watches. There are a lot of good watches, so it really comes down to what features you want. For me, I decided that the features I needed were GPS tracking and bluetooth music. I don't carry my phone on my runs, so I need my watch to be the source of my music. For me, the winner was the "Garmin vivoactive 3M" watch and a pair of Jabra Elite Sport wireless earbuds. Very happy with both. As soon as I return home, the watch syncs with an app on the phone and I can see all type of details about the run: a map, pace, heart rate, elevation, stride, etc. It was interesting to see the elevation and pace together on the same graph. I found that as I go up a hill my pace slows as as expected, but when it levels off my pace wasn't picking back up for quite some time. Garmin did a good jobs on the software.

  18. How do you get excited about hiring a coach who has a 3-31 record as a head coach?
