  1. This. For many "Christians" they don't actually believe in much of the underlying tenets. Only those that can conveniently support their agenda (see prosperity gospel). Amazon has good documentary on Christianity titled Marketing the Messiah. Illustrates how it's always been a malleable religion from day one, with the winners writing the history. Worth the hour and a half.
  2. Murphy Mason is back. I watched it, but it wasn't the best season. Looks like they are setting up for Season 4. I liked sex ed. It's a great show that addresses so much concerning sex and relationships in these schools and communities that want to push only abstinence. Love on the Spectrum and Atypical taught me a lot about autism. I am glad those were made. It just seems at odds that Netflix is standing up to that norm and putting these messages out, but at the same time, Netflix caves on nudity censoring. Every woman who has sex on Netflix does so in a bra. Makes it all kind of watered down. Euphoria on Amazon didn't have a problem with it. Just so hypocritical to me, is all.
  3. Yes, it will probably be more expensive, they have to maintain those marvelous executive bonuses and dividends, and stock buy backs. Y'all are truly lost if you don't think these companies all the way up and down the line aren't soaking everyone as much as possible.
  4. All that is about as clever as this is:
  5. In Texas they do have standards they have to meet. All those STAAR and core classes. Not sure all the charters or home school programs live up to those. Always just assumed that places like Liberty were diploma mills for those coming out of some of those evangelical ed alternatives.
  6. Come to think of it, I think that manure has more value than the GOP platform. Probably does resemble in odor and slickness though.
  7. A guy could make a decent living off that, if he were to follow up the rapes by suing the victims for abortions.
  8. I'm so tired of this shit. Just like gun violence and voter suppression. Case after case comes to light, and nothing gets done. They just double the fuck down. Loading the courts coming home to save the day for the old white conservatives. How did we get to the point where this shit is normalized, like 700,000 deaths due to covid?
  9. maybe a bitter divorce settlement? bed through window.webm
  10. 800 million in federal aid? Do the students who attend Liberty have to meet the same standards as public universities? With all the new home schooling and charter religious schools, I assumed places like Liberty and Baylor could accept students that don't meet the same standards kids coming out of public schools.
  11. So Flood came from Saban's staff and our OL is bad. Bad hire there? I get what you are saying about hiring poor assistants, we have lived through so much of that it makes us very impatient for results. This is a good staff, and I feel much better about Sark being bright enough to right the ship than either of the last two hires. I wanted Traylor for this hire, but too many here were ready to sell off first borns to get Urban. I never liked him, he just represented as slime to me. But I also understood the argument for avoiding hiring unproven coaches. So Sark was a compromise hire. Personally, I want to give Sark a couple more years to show out here. I think he'll get it right. I do agree he needs help keeping his finger on the pulse of the overall game if he wants to continue calling plays.
  12. And basketball is around the corner!
  13. How does she know who she caught it from?
  14. I finally spent enough at Kroger to get the 10 cent discount one month. They had post-its on every pump saying they were out of premium. Had a nearly empty tank and went to fill it with mid grade. I got about .1 gallon in and it shut off. I went to the attendant to ask about it, and was informed that 'of course we are out of mid grade, we are out of premium.' I didn't know this shit was blended at the pump. So i got a ten cent discount for all of a tenth of a gallon. The more you know.
  15. I would think keeping kids fire up after a game like that is a challenge. Especially after they get to watch and discuss the game together. You get this game followed by anything even approaching 2015, then Sark just has to come to the PC and admit "they are just playing out the season now. It's obvious what is going on. Want to know why we are leaving? Look at your refs for starters, big 12. Reap what you sow." Then I would hope he would push for that nationwide pool of refs mentioned above. Considering the money this sport generates, flying in refs from across the country is piddling in an effort to keep the game as fair as possible. And no way with the advent of Zoom you couldn't have anonymous review committees of random games. Use panels of officials and fans, ex-coaches. Post grades for each ref and then as a group. Refs would never know what games would be chosen each week, like random drug tests, so they call all games cleaner.
  16. This. All the suspect recruiting of Robert Strait to go along with it. All to make Teaff look like some damn saint on his way out. While 2005 OSU was bad, it holds nothing against 92 Baylor. And there's not any fan of baylor that isn't an insufferable cunt. Not a one. Not a single one.
  17. This Karen must have grown up in a trailer where the only remaining VHS tape was Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. These types of morons have made filling public office so unpleasant that few with true good intentions of serving their fellow man will take the job. Too often filled with people with agendas who have no moral compass, but are good at waxing over all the bad shit they do while polishing the knobs of those who employ them.
