  1. I recognize East Texas as Louisiana. My least favorite area of the state. One reason is the abundance of Confederate flags that can be seen there.
  2. It’s a valid assumption, however she went to school in Louisiana according to that LinkedIn. Which tracks. Just about every white personal I know from there has zero issue with dropping the n word.
  3. Why isn’t the IRS up in that ass? Also, why does Reggie Bush lose heisman, but not johnny crackhead?
  4. This guy makes furniture out of old skateboards and several of his designs are mid-century modern inspired. Definitely cheap, but they look cool and are well made (has videos on his Instagram of him making them). https://barousseworks.com/collections/furniture
  5. If you wear those expensive jeans with all the fancy pants stitching, there is a big chance we aren’t going to be friends. And there is a 100% you are a jackwagon.
  6. Silsbee is a shithole. Only marginally less shitty than Evadale. That are has the advantage of being east texas and golden triangle adjacent. So just shitty with more shitty to the mix.
  7. I’m working from home today, which is somewhat accepted on my project if you have a reason. Fuck I miss this.
  8. Watched it last night (not even sure why). Confirmed, total douche. So are/were his coaches and parents. One giant douchebag party.
  9. Don’t do Krav Maga. It’s VERY McDojo (exactly what it sounds like). There are legit Krav Maga places, but they are few and far between. How central are you and how far are you willing to drive? On 183 is a Gracie Barra. They are the largest team/school in the world. They sometimes get a bad rap because they want people to wear their gi (or at least put their patches on your gi). However, the vast majority of their schools and black belts are absolutely legitimate. In fact from looking at their site, it looks like they have some high level, old school Brazilians running that school. They usually have very good kids classes. https://gbnorthaustin.com/ I trained at a Gracie Barra for a couple of years and found it to be as legitimate as other places I have trained when it comes to learning the art. There is another place more central called VOW, but I know nothing about them nor have I heard of the teacher there. I am sure that Renzo place is good, but for ethical reasons I wouldn’t train there. I can go into if you want to know. More than happy to answer any questions you have. I’m in my mid-late 40s and been training since 2006 (although very inconsistently as of late).
  10. I’m sure this episode will be hated on, but I liked it a lot. But I also liked last episode a lot too. [emoji2371]
  11. Doesn’t sound made up at all. I mean, that really seems like something that you could/would have posted here a long time ago.
  12. Assuming the food and not the surly poster (nothing personal), I think we have reached a deal. Have your people send over the paperwork for my lawyer to check.
  13. Ok. But the deal is for a one way ticket.
  14. There is no goddamn way I’m going to sit in a car with Ldogg for 2.5 hours.
  15. Do I need to take a piss before this two hour meeting starts? Big decision.
  16. This is the correct answer. I switched jobs a few weeks ago and went from a 9/80 schedule with two days in the office to a 4/10 schedule all on-site. I’ll take it because I enjoy having every Friday off, but really wish I had at least one day at home. Again, this isn’t about productivity at all. This is about real estate and energy costs. I mentioned it before, but case in point: The firm I am at now uses resources in India, but the core team and management is in Houston. How is that any different than hybrid or work from home? In fact, I think it is LESS productive for a couple of reasons: The time difference between India and Texas is prohibitive to collaboration, even via Teams. Second, for a variety of reasons, this lends itself to more rework. Even more comical is I might not even see my manager on any given day and I rarely see the client (they are in our office as well, but I rarely talk to them face to face). It’s horseshit that we can’t do this on a hybrid schedule.
  17. Whoever buys me a full spread at Leroy and Lewis I will train in Brazilian jiu jitsu.
  18. The high temps here in Houston are almost the same as the high temps as the project job site on the Arabian peninsula that I am working on. Ok cool, hook ‘em.
