  1. Always loved checking what was sampled. Its led me to some amazing music. For instance, Stakes is High by De La Soul is one of my favorite songs Checking the sample led me to this one by Ahmad Jamal and it became one of my favorite songs ever. Absolutely amazing cut, Swahililand. For the impatient ones, sample is at 8:07 but seriously listen to the whole thing. EDITED TO ADD: RIP Dilla
  2. Good game brewing in WAS. Mytics v Sky. Rookie Sonia Citron with 16 in the first half on 6/7 shooting for the Mystics. They have real nice duo for the future with her and Kiki Iriafin to add to All star Brittany Sikes and Shikira Austin for now.
  3. Dude is a POS who thought he could "big guy" the original deputy. Then the "I have to back my wife" shit is fucking bullshit. He's scared of that raging bitch. Grow a pair and check her or better yet just GTFO.
  4. Holy fuck was this terrible. Its prolly the worst big budget movie I've ever seen. Just all over the place with the story. Non-sensical shit errwhere.
  5. Good points. Particularly on the "losses" Sports owners have been creating losses when there are little to none forever with creative accounting. The W money is not public info which makes it even easier to allow that "not profitable" bit go on for public negotiating purposes. I get that the players dont put up the risk but with so many advocating for them to foot the bill for losses why wouldnt they advocate for them to get some of the value that they are adding? The Liberty just sold a 20% stake at a $450M valuation. The 20% stake is almost 10 times what Tsai paid for the whole team just 5 yrs before. Did the players not have any role in creating that value? The players can make a living playing overseas. Not all make large salaries. Then they have to deal with all of the other "costs" of playing in other countries. Being away from family, cultural differences, etc.
  6. So how is it that you want operating losses to be passed on to the employees but massive franchise valuation growth and expansion income is "just a spoil of being an owner"?
  7. So you think they dont deserve more than 9.5% of the revenue they help generate? Its entitled to think they deserve more?
  8. But the vets they have aint the type of guys you want leading. CP does resolve that.
  9. Why not? Still get paid significant money to do something that you still love and can do at a relatively high level
  10. Nope, players dont get that in any of the other sports but I dont want to hear about how much they are losing if they are getting a 1B windfall over a 5 yr period
  11. Additionally, the current teams will divide the $750M from the 3 new expansion teams. Players get none of that. It is not considered BRI. They just got $250M total from the Valkyries, Portland Fire and the Toronto Tempo franchises.
  12. I really havent heard anyone say they are in a position to get the same revenue share as the men, just that they should have a bigger share than the 9% that they currently get. Further we dont know what all goes into BRI in the W vs what it is in the NBA.
  13. While I agree mostly, it was year 1 and it was a pretty big success. I could see it going very much along the lines of what the Big 3 league is doing. That league is moving more to individual franchises based in different cities. Its not a rival to the NBA (no matter what Ice Cube says) and Unrivaled isnt a rival to the W. It is a great starting point for that league and for players to have an option to earn good money while staying here in the US. They can also have some input on how that league grows/changes going forward.
  14. Many of the players that participated in Unrivaled got paid as much or more than what they make in the W. Unrivaled has a multi-yr TNT sponsorship already and is growing for the upcoming season. There is also the Athletes Unlimited league that many others played in last offseason. Both leagues are run by players (or former players).
  15. Players are trying to strong arm the league for a new deal. The CBA is up at the end of this season. I suspect the new deal will have an out for both sides at some point during the contracted period
  16. Clips are the same thing they've been for the last 10 yrs or so. Just a team with a bunch of big name players
  17. Not really surprising that he went back to LA. His family stayed behind there the last few yrs while he has bounced around the league.
  18. And won two titles
  19. Never fails and its always hilarious
  20. Saw it yesterday. It was kinda meh. Luthor's entire motivation being just a fucking hater was too much for me to deal with. He was willing to destroy the world to kill Superman. Sucks because I like the actor and I thought they had the physical aesthetic down
  21. The Reebok Angel Reese 1 'Mebounds' Unveiled for WNBA All-Star Game https://www.si.com/fannation/sneakers/news/reebok-angel-reese-1-mebounds-unveiled-wnba-all-star-game
  22. It would be nice to see from time to time I suppose. I neither expect nor want them to be as athletic as men generally
  23. Bingo!!!! Owners always cry broke. They've done it in the NFL and NBA for years despite all sorts of evidence that they arent losing money. Further franchise values are growing very fast so if its so bad why aren't all the owners dumping their teams
