  1. We ain’t recruiting these chucklefucks for their brain power. Actually, I’m not sure what we’re recruiting these chucklefucks for.
  2. OL is less than ideal.
  3. To be fair, our offense could cause a 1 and out.
  4. Every time he talks about how awesome our D is, we get ran over.
  5. Someone told me that part of the recapture formula is based on utilization so if we get all schools to the 85-95% goal, that helps keep money in the district. Dunno if that’s true or not.
  6. Looks like none of those maps were chosen. Our neighborhood vertical (Gullett>Lamar>Mac) stays the same for my hood since Gullett's boundary is not changing.
  7. That’s just a random color scheme on each one. This data wasn’t meant to be shared. This morning I wondered if their staff was smart enough to turn off the default option in ArcGIS Online to share data publicly and I was right. They’re not. It took me about 30 seconds to find the web maps.
  8. Yeah, I don’t know what we’d do. I fear that’s the option because it shuts up the vocal eastsiders who complain about the historical racism of the east-west divide. Congrats, all schools get fucked.
  9. Transfers are gonna be eliminated as part of this process. They have to force as many kids as possible to go to their zoned schools.
  10. Yeah, if those maps are correct and option 3 is chosen, there are no "good" high schools left.
  11. They covered this a few meeting ago. You can't close a failing school because that improvement plan then follows those kids to their new school and their cumulative score still counts towards that original failing score. However, you can move higher performing kids to a failing school to raise the grades at that school. Once they said that, then you knew the better performing kids were being sacrificed.
  12. Here is a spreadsheet I made from the map data above. It lists the schools in each vertical. I fear Option 3 is the choice. It gets rid of the historical east-west divide because the new boundaries mostly extend from far west austin to far east austin. Also, the percentage of disadvantaged students is the most consistent between high schools.
  13. So, in true AISD fashion, they set their working GIS data for the attendance zone options to public. If you know what to search for, you can find them. I don't know if these are what were considered or if one of these options was chosen. However, the last modified date is pretty recent. Option 3 is the nuclear option. Half of Northwest Hills will drive past Anderson to go to Navarro along with all of Allandale and most of Crestview. It looks like LBJ, Northeast, and Eastside all get the axe. Current: https://www.arcgis.com/apps/mapviewer/index.html?webmap=185958ef39cb4c15a016b9231ba17b8c Option 1: https://www.arcgis.com/apps/mapviewer/index.html?webmap=57e9c5655b4645859b3bd01c51f62e41 Option 2: https://www.arcgis.com/apps/mapviewer/index.html?webmap=85c7eab9962d4056a5540d5e5a5d79cb Option 3: https://www.arcgis.com/apps/mapviewer/index.html?webmap=fe1cda4a5af24afabefc0369689d040a EDIT: these maps are of the verticals. If you click on a boundary polygon, the pop up will tell you which elementary and middle schools will track to the high school in that option scenario.
  14. If you drink enough beer and eat enough chili, you can vomit all over his back every single home game.
  15. They've already notified principals at a dozen schools that they're closing.
  16. At least I find out tomorrow if I'm moving my kid to Colorado.
  17. yeah, it sucks. i was hoping when i entered that new citi card as a payment option that it would show up but nope.

Do we have the worst penalty conversion rate in history? I swear we only make 20% of penalties. I never expect one to find the back of the net.
  19. If we're waiting on a fucking aggy to save us, we are fucked.
  20. Ticketmaster has presales for different credit cards...AmEx, Citi, Capital One, Chase. They either happen the day before or a few hours before the public sale. Not all cards have a presale for every show. I had the other three cards already so I just got a no fee Citi card just to fill in the gap. There's also usually an artist presale if you sign up for their mailing list. The big benefit is that the presales do not have surge pricing like during the public sale and there's no queue.

Where's a good drop off location? I have to drop off my girls each day but haven't thought about logistics yet.
  22. I went ahead and got a Citibank credit card just to cover my last gap in the presale opportunities at Moody. Buying during the general sale sucks.
  23. All Them Witches will be at Stubb's in March. I first saw them at Stubb's indoor close to 10 years ago. Quite the achievement to move up to venues that size with zero radio play and zero label support.
  24. C3 has gone down quite a bit since Covid. However, there are still solid items on the menu. Get the Winning Wings...chipotle ranch wings with a lime crema and grilled jalapenos. Also, get the coleslaw. It's made with blue cheese, apples, and candied pecans. That's my standard order. Their hot chicken sandwich is also really good.
  25. Had lunch at a soul food joint on 620. No idea how long it’s been there but it’s great. Catfish, okra, and yams. Pretty sure the hot sauce on the table is homemade too.
