  1. Ticketmaster has presales for different credit cards...AmEx, Citi, Capital One, Chase. They either happen the day before or a few hours before the public sale. Not all cards have a presale for every show. I had the other three cards already so I just got a no fee Citi card just to fill in the gap. There's also usually an artist presale if you sign up for their mailing list. The big benefit is that the presales do not have surge pricing like during the public sale and there's no queue.

Where's a good drop off location? I have to drop off my girls each day but haven't thought about logistics yet.
  3. I went ahead and got a Citibank credit card just to cover my last gap in the presale opportunities at Moody. Buying during the general sale sucks.
  4. All Them Witches will be at Stubb's in March. I first saw them at Stubb's indoor close to 10 years ago. Quite the achievement to move up to venues that size with zero radio play and zero label support.
  5. C3 has gone down quite a bit since Covid. However, there are still solid items on the menu. Get the Winning Wings...chipotle ranch wings with a lime crema and grilled jalapenos. Also, get the coleslaw. It's made with blue cheese, apples, and candied pecans. That's my standard order. Their hot chicken sandwich is also really good.
  6. Had lunch at a soul food joint on 620. No idea how long it’s been there but it’s great. Catfish, okra, and yams. Pretty sure the hot sauce on the table is homemade too.
  7. The Christmas Adventurers Club. It's as gay sounding as gay racists deserve.
  8. Mad skillz impress the middle school girls, nerd.
  9. Nevermind. Looks like a bullet casing matches his suicide gun.
  10. It’s convenient that APD happens to link the murders to a guy who’s been dead for 26 years just weeks after the documentary showing their incompetence. Looking at the guy’s Wikipedia he was never west of Missouri until the DNA linked him to Austin. At the time of the murders, he was hopping between SC, TN, and GA.
  11. I enjoyed it quite a bit. I thought it was amusing that Leo’s character was like Indiana Jones in Raiders. Nothing he did mattered to the outcome of the story. Also, he didn’t really do anything but charge his phone.
  12. I vaguely remember an account from one the women saying that the one time she saw Bill when the underage girls were brought out, he looked panicked and was ready to GTFO. I'm going to guess the way Epstein operated was that it was depended on the target. Maybe the first few times you went to the island, it was on the up and up. You got some alcohol, drugs, some adult pussy, etc. After a trip or two, that's when he plied you with the underage girls. It didn't matter if you fucked them or not. He then had the receipts of you being a regular kid fucking customer.
  13. Holy shit, Dutch late night TV gives no fucks. The Netherlands are gonna get nuked.
  14. Just make sure you use the same form of pay each time so it keeps the running total for the day straight. Also, on an iPhone and Apple Watch, you can set one of your cards as a Transit Card so you don't have to activate the card before tapping.
  15. It'll probably be fine but it's going to bomb like a motherfucker.
  16. Don't the vouchers have an income limit of like $170K? There aren't too many families with kids with that low of a household income in west Austin.
  17. There's an aggy joke in there somewhere about gay coloring books.
  18. Does any of this really matter when TEA takes over in 1-2 years?
  19. Add Widen and Barrington to the potential closure list.
  20. Bedichek, Martin, Brykerwoods, Wooten, Dawson, Becker, Maplewood, Ridgetop, and Joslin are the first schools on the chopping block to be leaked.
  21. I have an irrational hatred for Hermit. I hope the eyeball takes him down.
  22. One data point they threw out there was that when Minneapolis consolidated their schools, they lost 35% of their students. Someone from AISD offhandedly mentioned an expectation of 10-15%. The issue with the Zoom meetings is that 99% of the participants only give a shit about the wall-to-wall dual language schools. I honestly didn't even know that was a thing. I wanted to just yell that shit won't even exist when TEA takes over so don't worry about it.
  23. My first guess would be that Pillow & Wooten would merge since they're both under enrolled and really close to each other. If you eliminate transfers, then Gullett & Brentwood fall within the ideal 85-95% capacity range. It seems like easy fixes for 4 schools. However, from the Dobie/Lamar meetings months ago, eastside activists were pretty insistent that white schools need to suffer. Gullett hasn't received any real construction money and is in terrible condition. Most classrooms are portables. They actually still use the very first portable AISD bought in the early '60s (the Speech portable). That is an extremely valuable piece of property and I would think developers have had discussions with them. I fear for Lamar also. That has to be some valuable land at Burnet/2222. Burnet and Dobie MS are right down the road. If you split the higher performing Lamar students to those campuses, it can lift them out of their F ranking. If students from the bad schools move, the F rating follows those students. So, from a ratings perspective, it makes more sense to close a better performing school and disperse those students.
