The Political Compass Thread

There are some stupid questions or I am not reading them right.

A significant advantage of a one-party state is that it avoids all the arguments that delay progress in a democratic political system.

Who would not agree with this?

I've always thought that "quiz" was poor. You essentially have interpret the questions from what you believe the authors frame of reference is.

I have found a motherlode of tests.

http://l-lists.com/en/lm.php?l=0isll4.html

Several of them are from GotoQuiz. There are others that seem more reputable.

Politiscales also has a range of importance. It has a Euro bent.

Pew Political Typology is the other one that I'd consider  somewhat reliable.

If you object to the wording of a question that seems like a starting point for discussion.

(if anyone's wondering, scroll down to the "certificate" section to get the caricature grid)

I'd be really interesting to see where all of the current candidates sit on this grid. Also, look at where Hillary is..

I think most candidates positions are more reflective of political strategy than of their personal beliefs, fwiw. Bernie an obvious exception
