I haven't, but I actually have seen aggy defending the hit elsewhere.

On the reddit post aggy was saying that they got similar treatment on the way out of the B12 and that it doesn't get any better in the SEC reffing wise.

So... being aggy as per usual.

B1G refs seem to allow play to continue. The games I've watched show them rarely asking - or allowing - the reviewers to watch eighty-leven angles of a play to see if a player's pinkie toe was in the green stuff or the white stuff. The field guys make the calls and keep playing, and I'm okay with that.

I DON'T see anyone defending this call/appeal. I'm seeing pretty much universal hatred for it, and from every fan base.

I have seen a couple of twitter ref types still hanging onto this thing. But what's more is that it most likely reflects the opinions of the ones who are being quiet about it. The roots are many and deep with this bullshit.

Did Sark have any further comments?  I get he's balancing having to deal with shit and biased Big 12 officiating all season and not wanting to piss them off further (i.e., Mark Cuban circa 2006 (and years leading up to it) which, without question, cost the Mavs a title).

But I also wouldn't mind him saying "I invite someone from the Big 12 or NCAA officiating review board to come to practice and coach our LB's exactly what they should do differently in that situation to complete the objective of actually sacking the QB rather than letting him throw for a TD but also not get penalized, because as coaches, we have absolutely no idea how to coach this if that is targeting."

In a psychological evaluation of a B12 ref crew when given a Rorschach test every time they were shown the longhorn symbol they answered targeting.

That's what I'm interested in right now. I'm tired of hearing about what these geeks saw on plays like this. I want to hear them explain what the tackler should have done that is both, A. humanly possible; and B. conductive to defensive football's purpose and demand on such a play.

If you truly want to teach players the proper way to do things to avoid injury to other players then you must provide guidance on how to do things properly.  "Not that", whatever "that" is will not do the job.  Particularly when "that" is running into the person with the ball and wrapping up while being practically vertical.

And if a QB "in the throwing motion" (never mind whether the QB in this particular case was actually doing this) is "defenseless" then a blindside tackle of the QB with his arm cocked back is going to be flagged as targeting every time now, right?  Yeah, I didn't think so.

Can we rewrite our contracts with upcoming out of conference opponents to use their officials instead of "ours"?

He had a hell of a game Friday

The maddening thing about CFB is the fact players leave just when they're about to reach the peak of their potential..doh! The No Fun League gets to benefit while college programs have to start over with another young player

Go get em in the NFL agent 0

was always obvious he is undersized for the position at the next level, if you are strictly looking at him as a LB.

Maybe he can be a pass rush specialist or 3rd down MLB.

Anyway, I can't believe Texas nutrition couldn't put 20# on him. The NFL has to be able to.

Hopefully gets on a team with a system that maximizes his talent...  DMO has a lot of work to do to be successful in the NFL.

He has to show them something on special teams EARLY

It’s not a stretch to say he literally needs to knock somebody unconscious in camp, which he’s very capable of doing

Teams are all about hybrid players now so I have no doubt he will get drafted by someone hoping they can turn him into Isiah Simmons.  He’s extremely athletic but he lacks toughness in run support and lacks basic linebacker instincts.  I think if teams were to use him as a pass rusher and a guy to cover TEs, he can be successful in the league.   If he played like Gary Johnson with measurables, he would be a day 2-3 pick but I think he will go 5-7 which isn’t terrible considering I thought he was a massive bust after 2021.
