And I'll bet he has already spent damn near all of it. I got nothing but admiration and respect for Coach O. He's a fucking meathead, but he knows/owns it, and he has more fun than 99% of the $million+ earners in this country. No TPS reports for ole Ed. he's got pussy and nutria to eat.

LSU’s problem was not offense. They’ll probably improve from what they did this year, but they need to improve the defense.
When has Lane ever been the HC of a team with a good defense?
Last year’s OM team was possibly his best and they were stacked with talent on that side. If they don’t win early during this honeymoon phase, I could see them falling off pretty quickly.

Harrison was the bigger fuck-up of the two

I guess you can argue that Mavs ownership had to approve the Doncic trade, so it was a collective fuck-up. Harrison probably didn't have carte blanche.

Well if you ask Ole Miss it’s Kiffin. But Harrison let my dude go to the fucking Lakers man. For this, he needs to float in a lake. Kiffin is entertaining. A shithead but an entertaining one. Plus, he’s causing a massive upheaval in the SEC. This is fine with me. And seems to be normal in this conference. My friend has her 18 year old daughter at LSU. I hope they had the “After School Special” talk with her about him. The daughter already posts on Instagram like Only Fans is a natural progression. I don’t want to read about her on X next spring. Kiffin is probably the enemy of most parents who care about their hot daughters.

Yeah, I've heard the rumors and read articles about the impending Vegas move. Just another reason not to watch the NBA.

LSU's offense was a problem this season.  It was last in the conference in total yards, yards per game and scoring.  Cue the Brian Kelly post-game rant in an early game.

LSU's defense this year was good, actually.  They were 6th in the SEC in yards allowed and 4th in scoring.

Your friend should've encouraged her daughter to study harder.

She is the type that we will probably see in a “messy” way involving Kiffin. Not gonna lie. So when he starts running a train on the co-eds and this thread goes next level, I will just ignore any inevitable posts with her picture in it.

I don’t ever want to hear talk again about how LSU is poor and can’t afford to “fill in the blank.”

Anyone who has ever posted something like that on this site is full of shit and has no idea what they’re talking about.

Fair enough, I’m looking at the trend of the Kelly tenure though. The offense got worse once they lost Denbrock for sure.

I cannot do that  🤦🏼‍♀️ but she was already joking with her parents about Kiffin. And I wish that were a joke. She would see him as a trophy. Like she bagged him. Even if he saw it the other way around. For him it’s what he does. All day long apparently. She would see it as a strategic career “move.”  These young influencer types are bigger mercenaries than he is. Her parents are super online religious…they have a big footprint in God’s space…this will be embarrassingly entertaining. The daughter of another friend was kicked out of a “prestigious” Alabama sorority for her racy Instagram posts and since there was “no point” according to her to stay at Bama sans sorority she’s back at a state school. Her Instagram posts are turned back up to 11 now.

my parents would have kicked my ass if I had behaved like these girls.

Sucks for the coach? Dude just got a significant raise and he didn't have to talk with multiple schools at the same time.

Emotionally and stress-wise.  I could see in they guy's face and hear in his words that it really was a gut-wrenching decision.  He loved it at Ole Miss.  He had meaningful relationships with his players, coaches, administrators, people in the community.  He really wanted to coach his team in the playoffs to enjoy the fruits of his labor.  He was forced by the system in place to make a fast, life changing decision and forgo all of that.  Sure the guy gets paid a ton, but money doesn't always cover everything.

if the committee leaves ole miss out because of this I'm going to laugh so fucking hard. It's absolute the right decision, and it was really really stupid of Ole Miss to push him out now vs letting him coach through the end of the season.

Where Ole Miss Coaches Are Expected to Land With Lane Kiffin Departing for LSU

Ryan Phillips | Nov 30, 2025

image.jpeg.e4a704aca5116f34e45eafc6246713cc.jpeg

Lane Kiffin has made a decision about his future, now his Ole Miss assistant coaches have to figure out theirs.

LSU is hiring Kiffin away from the Rebels, handing Kiffin a massive contract. Ole Miss has already named Pete Golding as its next head coach, and now a battle is on to grab assistant coaches.

What follows is a look at what we know so far, though things could change quickly. We’ll update the following section as more news rolls in.

Coaches leaving Ole Miss to join Lane Kiffin at LSU

So far, we know of a handful of coaches and support staff members reported to be heading to LSU with Kiffin.

Charlie Weis Jr., offensive coordinator: Weis was seen getting on the plane that took Kiffin to Baton Rouge. He has been Kiffin’s offensive coordinator since the 2022 season and leads an offense currently ranked third in college football, averaging 498.1 yards per game.

Joe Cox, co-offensive coordinator, tight ends coach: Cox joined Ole Miss in 2024 as the team’s tight ends coach and co-offensive coordinator. The 39-year-old previously worked as the tight ends coach at Alabama in 2022

George McDonald, wide receivers coach: McDonald is expected to move on to LSU. The 49-year-old was in his second season at Ole Miss after spending the previous three as the assistant head coach and receivers coach at Illinois. He was both the receivers coach and the passing game coordinator for the Rebels.

Nick Savage, head strength coach: Savage is also joining Kiffin at LSU. Savage was previously Florida’s strength coach and was hired at Ole Miss before the 2022 season.

Billy Glasscock, general manager: These days, a general manager is at the heart of every college football program, particularly where recruiting and roster retention are concerned. Glasscock was hired in February 2024 and had previously been Steve Sarkisian’s player personnel director at Texas. That means LSU’s current general manager, Austin Thomas, may be on his way out.

Thaddeus Rivers, senior associate athletic director for football operations: Rivers is the head of football operations for Ole Miss and is likely set to take the same role in Baton Rouge.

Mike Williams, senior director of player personnel: Kiffin hired Williams before the 2024 season. He was a longtime NFL scout and had been the Rams’ vice president of player personnel. He had also worked under Jim Harbaugh with the 49ers.

Sawyer Jordan, inside receivers coach: Jordan was a senior analyst and the team's inside receivers coach. He was previously a quality control analyst at South Florida.

Chris Kiffin, analyst and linebackers coach: Chris Kiffin is Lane’s younger brother. The 43-year-old has been on his brother’s staff at several stops, including at USC in 2010 and at Florida Atlantic in 2017. He has been a defensive assistant in the NFL at three different stops, and has a background as both a defensive line and linebackers coach.

Coaches staying at Ole Miss with Pete Golding

Again, this is as far as we know right now, but several Ole Miss coaches are reportedly staying in Oxford to work under new head coach Pete Golding.

Bryan Brown, co-defensive coordinator, defensive backs coach: Brown joined Ole Miss before the 2024 season after a year at Cincinnati as the team’s defensive coordinator. Before that, he was Louisville’s defensive coordinator from 2019 through the ‘22 season. The 42-year-old is an Ole Miss alum.

Randall Joyner, defensive line coach: Joyner is in his fifth season as the Rebels’ defensive line coach. Prior to moving to Oxford, he was the defensive line coach at his alma mater SMU for three seasons.

Wes Neighbors III, safeties coach: Neighbors is in his third season coaching safeties at Ole Miss. He has been an assistant at Maryland, Louisiana, and South Florida, while also working with Kiffin at Florida Atlantic in 2018 and 2019.

I already said I would go to Ole Miss (if UT doesn’t make the playoffs) and help for a reasonable fee on their offensive staff. I would. Make it happen well connected Surlies.

Gerry on OTF wondering if ole miss should be left out of playoffs since all their offensive staff has left to go to Lsu ???

They absolutely are not a playoff team without Kiffin and it's a joke to think that coaching doesn't matter at all at the highest levels of competition.

It's different when a coach is "suspended" for a game, that means they can't be there, but they still gameplan, run practices and basically set the whole staff up to execute for Saturday and just can't be there. If they are actually not able to be in the building or talking to any other staff members then things break down incredibly quickly.

A lot of the staffs remained in tact at schools that fired their head coach, there's continuity there and sure the head coach is gone, but someone can assume that role and do a just as shitty job as a fired guy.

This is not that, this is half the entire coaching staff and the part of the staff that made Ole Miss prolific is not only physically gone, they also took their playbooks with them, all the resources with them and there is no one left to pick up the pieces and put together a functional strategy or gameplan with the current roster against a team. It's crazy to think that Ole Miss won't just get wildly outcoached in any game and the only advantage they have will be a talent advantage against a shitty G5 team or something.

But in a Sunday night appearance on The Bill Simmons Podcast, longtime college football reporter Todd McShay told a different story.

McShay, who has covered Kiffin since he was a wunderkind propelling Reggie Bush to the Heisman House, claimed that the coach was waiting until the end of the Iron Bowl to reveal his decision because the outcome could very well have changed his mind. According to him, Kiffin was holding out hope that a Crimson Tide loss might have led to the ‘Bama job coming open — and him being a candidate.

“The same people that told me Friday night that it’s done, that he’s got a place (in Baton Rouge) basically, and everyone in his circle knows that he’s going to LSU, the same people were telling me … it will not be official until after that Alabama game,” McShay said. “Because the job he wants more than any other job … I’ve known Lane for over 20 years, I’m buds with Lane, we communicate, but if you just watch, as much as he butted heads with Nick (Saban) at Alabama, he and Saban have a bond and a mutual respect for one another, even though they drove each other crazy. That was the job he wanted.”

Saban famously brought Kiffin in as offensive coordinator in 2014 to help rehabilitate him after he was fired by USC midseason. While in Tuscaloosa, Kiffin helped them win the 2015 national championship and was on the cusp of a second before Saban fired him for flirting with FAU while preparing for the College Football Playoff.

According to McShay, Alabama still holds a special place in Kiffin’s heart. And despite the dramatic move from Ole Miss to LSU, earning him the ire of Oxford faithful and sports fans everywhere, he supposedly wondered whether an even more surprising move to Tuscaloosa might be possible.

“So there was still this one percent in him, and no one will ever admit it, and especially him … I truly believe there was a small percentage of Lane who was like, I’m going to LSU, it’s done, but what happens if Auburn beats Alabama?” McShay said. “Because that thing could fall apart in a hurry with Kaelen DeBoer.”

I think it should happen if for no other reason that to hasten the blowing up of the whole fucked up system.

Yeah, hard to see them being functional losing their HC and entire Offensive staff less than a month before games.
