Dismiss every one of them that boycotts, membership is an honor, not a right.  If air traffic controllers can be replaced, we can damn sure do without these blowhards.  There are plenty of talented band members in this state that would be happy to take their place.

Exactly. These idiots should be dismissed from the band. You've got one job, and it has nothing to do with your feelings.

How many members does the band have?   300 to 400?   So half of this would be 150 to 200....

The travel band might be this many when they go on a long road trip.

So to tell us they couldn't perform with half is a pile of dogshit.

Or bring in the alumni band to play. The discussion over The Eyes was had, and the band was not a party to it. No one goes to a football game to watch the band.

BTW, I told y'all the reason their bitch of a band director wasn't letting them play had nothing to do with the virus. He deserves to be fired right alongside Tom Herman. He also sucks at other aspects of his job.

The travel band (or any band) should only consist of members who agree to do their jobs. If they won't, then they don't belong on that band or any other. We don't sign basketball players up to play if they say they won't dribble. This is fucking stupid. (not you, the situation)

The same band that has had only one black drum major in its history? Who is performing in a stadium that once featured segregated seating? For a team that didn't allow black players until just 50 years ago? That song tho, woo boy!

I think they will find they have almost no support for their "stand."

People in the marching band often believe the football game is about them. In high school and in college. At Desoto we had some bitch ass band director that thought everyone was there to watch them first and football second. At a school with a large minority population they would play shit that a lot of people could even recognize which I’m sure was very artful and got them all sorts of awards but most people went to get concessions while they performed. They bitched about us being in the playoffs because it would interfere with their competition.

Fuck marching bands. They exist to support football and school pride. If they want to be bitches cancel them. Those woke mother fuckers know all about cancelling anyway.

I don't get it?  Should they be going back in time to get the school integrated sooner before worrying about the song?

Oh boy another chance for the same people to rage at groups of students on campus to show how tough-minded they are.

Bands are a huge reason people like college more than professional football. We have a great band and we should work with them to make sure that we can all recreate a tremendous college atmosphere with as little divisiveness as possible.

Back to your regularly scheduled macho blustering on the Internet.

Just checking in to see if everything is under control.

Oh yeah. A co-ed rolled her eyes at the Jefferson Davis statue in Dolph Briscoe and 20 Aggie-Longhorns in their 40s and 50s surrounded her and screamed at her about how she can just leave campus and she's easily replaceable.

Well under control.

No time for logic, man, we're signalling our virtue!!!!!!!!!

You truly are in the running for the worst poster on this site. The blowback is about virtue signaling all right which everyone is sick and tired of.

Im still waiting for you to provide examples of how the 2005 National Championship team behaved like the 2020 team on the field, btw. You should have had plenty of time by now to find examples.

Sure, and returning fire with virtue signals of their own.

What would be cool is if the students acted like kids (which they are) and the adults acted like adults. Instead, we're having a contest for who can be the biggest and loudest crybabies and the adults are winning.

It's pretty simple. The song has no racist meaning in itself, but if we're to say it's racist based on its origins, then I think it's fair to say the University of Texas is currently racist based on it's origins and past actions (as would be most universities). They don't seem to have a problem representing the university by being in the band. Just the song? It's interesting to me.

This country has a very short history, and a very racist one. Chances are anywhere you look you'll see something born out of it.

Signals? One poster. I’m not sure you even know what the definition of plural is. The rest of us just think the band are a bunch vagina running bitches who need to fucking do their job or not be in the band.
