By the way, Leal isn't getting drafted in the first round, and there's a decent chance Green isn't either. Which isn't a big deal in a vacuum, and is considerably better than what Texas will do in this draft, but aggies have been touting both for awhile as obvious first rounders

You'd think a team that rose to the summit of an 8-4 regular season would be swimming in first round draft choices.

One of the three of four best draft guys out there doesn't have Green in the first in his latest mock

https://www.nfl.com/news/daniel-jeremiah-2022-nfl-mock-draft-3-0-packers-nab-2-receivers-in-round-1-after

He proved he has no positional flexibility this year. He struggled when they tried to put him at left tackle, so he is a pure interior guy. Also highlights he has issues in pass pro. He is excellent as a run blocker, but that isnt going to make you a sure fire first round pick. I have seen him ranked 4-5th best interior guy by most people. 2nd round seems most likely

Surprising news today when I learned that fourth-year tight end and former five-star signee Baylor Cupp was entering the portal.

The highly-touted tight end was so impressive when he first stepped foot on campus, including having a big spring game debut, but injuries kept him from having any real impact in Aggieland. First, a broken leg suffered in fall camp cost him his true freshman season, which led to him being passed up by fellow 2019 signee Jalen Wydermyer. He was lost for the year again prior to the 2020 campaign (again in fall camp) and finally saw the field last season in very limited action. This spring ,Cupp was again battling injury while competing for playing time with several tight ends, including rapidly-emerging true freshman Jake Johnson when he decided it was time for a change of scenery.

It'll be interesting to see if Cupp - someone who everyone in the country recruited - aims high or if he looks for a landing spot where he's most likely to see the field from day one. The talent is and always has been there but he's just not been able to stay on the field long enough to progress as a player.

For the Aggies, this is the second five-star transfer this week, something that Longhorn fans will try to exploit (because the lower-rung fans on twitter actually believe they're impacting the process). The reality, however, is that both Cupp and Demond Demas - for entirely different reasons - simply hadn't panned out to this point and were going to have a difficult time nailing down starting positions. It's just the reality of the situation. And if you're wondering about the Ags' five-star track record, look no further than Kenyon Green, DeMarvin Leal, Bryce Foster and Jaylon Jones.

...not to mention how good Evan Stewart, Conner Weigman, Denver Harris, Shemar Turner and Tunmise Adeleye have looked this spring. Or Jake Johnson, for that matter, a high four-star who may or may not have factored into Cupp's ultimate decision.

Keep on eye on Baylor, because if he makes the right choice in program and can stay healthy, he still has a bright future ahead of him.

Oooo! Salty!

There's just something about a superstar, can't miss player getting passed up by a guy who runs a 5.0 40 and has skillet hands...and who is also the most
"prolific" receiver on a 5 loss team of goons.  Good times in aggyland. They're close to their historic peak.

Let's see what the lower rung aggy $9.95ers on twitter have to say about that. Loogie should get his talking points from Daniel "The Racist" Figurelli.

aggy mouthpieces saying the Demas failure was just a feint by jimbo, a little misdirection, designed to fool outsiders into thinking their program is a clusterfuck, but in reality Jimbo's mission and goals remain fully intact, and that Demas was merely expendable chattel.

A&M continuing to run the state of Georgia, I see. The taking of their brand national was inevitable given the mass demand for things like dudes dressed up like milkmen squeezing their testicles, scoreboards for dead dogs, and 8 win seasons. How are we supposed to keep up?

Sometimes you just have to admit defeat and move on.

We could do it with just an 8 win season, but alas...

Dumbo is fooling some folks ... and it ain't the "outsiders".

I love the smell of aggy bravado in the spring.

He is pretty talented though, clearly a better option than the other options on campus longer term. But at the end of the day it don't make a shit. Jimbo gonna Jimbo them into another 4 loss season.
