I think I’m one and done with 1792 Sweet Wheat. It just tastes like young 1792. Nothing special.

I probably won’t revisit the NBC Stella’s Stash either. It’s printed nowhere on the bottle, but it’s almost certainly double oaked. It was darker than a cup of coffee. Just not my jam.

So the new Old Fitz 7 BiB for $60 seems downright reasonable compared to plenty of new stuff out there.

Am I being too benevolent?

Hitting total wine today for a birthday tonight for a buddy. What would you snobs suggest in the 80-100 range that's not the obvious Blanton's or Garrison Bros type of stuff.

Bonus points if it's slightly more obscure. He likes Bourbon, but he's not a snob about it.

Jack Daniels Barrel Proof Single Barrel Rye.  Hands down.  and it's under $80 but tastes like it isn't.

All of this. All of it.

I might grab that for myself, but I was thinking more along the lines of something he likely doesn't have. And I think he prefers Bourbon to Rye The ones near me had some Stellum and Chestnut farms that seemed like decent deals. Any thoughts on those?
