He’s gone from great at bats to clueless

He's hitting shots all over the yard. Long flies, doubles that are almost homers, and homers. That was a bad at bat but in a couple of recent instances he just missed clearing the bases, He is tied for seventh in RBI and has fewer ABs than all but one of those ahead of him. Yeah, he sucks.

What’s the plan for Marwin? I assume he’ll give some guys a few days off and be a clutch bat off the bench in the playoffs.

It will be an uphill battle to make the playoff roster.

Did Kalas just say our lineup is thicc?

Marwin will get some AAA PA's, but he will be likely be on the playoff roster. No need to carry 13 pitchers as you don't need 5 starters.

Unless he is added to the 40 man roster before September 1, the only way he can be on the playoff roster is by replacing an injured player. Here is the exact rule:

A player who doesn't meet said criteria for postseason eligibility can still be added to a team's roster in the postseason via petition to the Commissioner's Office if the player was in the organization on Aug. 31 and is replacing someone who is on the injured list and has served the minimum amount of time required for activation. (For example, a player on the 10-day injured list who has been on it for at least 10 days, or a player who has been on the 60-day injured list for at least 60 days.) Players who are acquired in September or after are ineligible.

There is always an injured player to replace. That rule has zero teeth. Phil Matin sorry about your sore arm. Odo- sorry about hat thing you have going on with your groin. Rest up and get better for next year.

A no-cost move for a MLB veteran utility guy with postseason experience signed to a minor league deal is impossible to criticize. It's a no-brainer move by Click, and Marwin likely isn't going to be a difference-maker but I would rather have him than Jacob Wilson fer sure. I *maybe* prefer him a little bit over Robel Garcia but that's only because of his postseason experience and familiarity with the veterans on this team. If they eventually elevate him to the active roster, I'm cool with DFA'ing Jacob Wilson for his 40 man spot.

Any warm body is better than Wilson or Garcia.  Low risk lightning in a bottle move.
