So do I need to prepare myself for an underwhelming recruiting class that does not get better during or after another 8 win season, followed by massive attrition from the top of their ‘22 class?

because that sounds like some good, fun reading.

Holy shit. Looch saying they can get a top 10 class but the margin for error so tight might be the most negative thing I’ve ver heard Looch say about aggy recruiting. They must be absolutely fucked.

Or they actually get desperate and mortgage some homes and pay Hill like 2 million dollars...

The real problem with aggy and it's been this way for at least the 50 years that I have dealt with them is they think they are a national power and so they are trying to recruit nationally. That's a huge problem. and bigger mistake. Why would a kid in Florida go all the way to aggy. Same with Georgia, Alabama, etc.

It's not happening.

The same hype they are giving Weigman is the exact same stuff they were saying about King a year ago.

That whole post is gold. First, it's going to be such a let down when Arch doesn't win a Heisman and go 1st in the draft, but then he compares the yet to have played a down Weigman to T. Lawrence. Yeah, someone's definitely going to be let down.

It's crazy how unintelligent and noncritical these guys are about what has transpired and what is transpiring...

Agreed.  Watching aggys engage in critical thinking exercises is like watching a group of monkeys hump a football.

Also, the dishonesty about them not being completely dirty last class.  Also that.

It's crazy how unintelligent and noncritical these guys are about what has transpired and what is transpiring. They were begging, BEGGING, for their money guys to get aggressive with the bags. Then, those guys did get aggressive. I mean, they won some bidding wars ahead of last year, such as McKinley Jackson, and they had a tactic that worked with Leal, Robertson, Wright, Demas, JJones and a few others, but last year, they went aaaaallll the way in. The fans on the forums got what they wanted.

Now? It was all clean. They're the victim. Everyone else is now apparently "cheating" by using the freshly available above-board approach of NIL with on-campus players that obviously translates to visiting recruits and families, and ATM is the virtuous idiot, standing to the side, tsk-tsking everyone else for ... not breaking any rules and using their competitive advantages where available.

It's just fucking bizarre.

For the ATM regime as a whole, it looks like someone pointed out to them at some point that FOIA was a problem for claiming any NIL work with the past guys. Inventing NIL programs after the fact is a lot harder than expected.

So then they sprint out there and claim just good ol'hard work leading to the greatest class of all time without a fucking DC on staff as numerous 4 and 5 stars committed late. That doesn't sit well with guys like Kiffin, Day, and Saban, who know they fucking cheated in bigger ways than they were supposed to in the "handshake agreement" environment of bag game recruiting. So they start talking about it.

ATM can't handle someone implying they're dishonorable in some way, while they've been brazenly dishonorable, and so Ritz Bitz scampers out and goes nuts on the most respected and powerful entity in CFB at the moment - Darth Saban.

The fallout from there has been thorough, and the rock and the hard place that the program has put itself in has made staying aggressive with the bags a non-starter and diving into real NIL a game of starting from behind, by multiple laps, and with less major resources on the up and up for the process.

Meanwhile, the insecure aggie fans, needing a white knight and a fairy tale, love the little cracker getting after it and love the notion of their program being the lone wolf of righteousness. They think they're William Wallace. They're looking more like George Custer.

My favorite part of all of this now is all of these recruits coming on campus and expecting them to drop bags as vehemently as last year and when nothing is presented they leave feeling…Rejected Will Smith GIF

Ags talk to each other like 65yo women. “Who’s going to spill the beans about what’s happening?” “ I hear tu promised the mooon”

Waiting for one of them to call another a fuddy duddy and mention their facebook feed.

It’s like a Longhorn got one of their daughters pregnant and they are arguing about all the ways he convinced her to fuck him.

Absolute gold that one of them said Ewers stunk it up in the Spring game when comparing what the aggy QB's did, especially 3-13 Weigman.

Aggy: “Stupid sip, it was windy, and he was facing the SEC’s stoutest secondary! And you can disregard the 4 INTs and second half shutout—you can’t expect these guys to master Jimbo’s offense in a day.”

So what actually happened?

A) A&M no longer alone in offering big NIL deals with competition from Oregon, Miami, etc

B) A&M donors blew their wad on 2022

C) A&M now scared of offering blatant upfront payments post the Saban rant

D) Players being told to stick to above the board NIL deals

C + no actual legal NIL. They're fucked until they can get real NIL deals rolling

After wading thru the screen shot diarrhea, a few things I noticed:

They’ve already delayed their title run to 2023. Last year, 2022 was the year it was all going to come together. Same story.  Rinse. Repeat

If so many players are only at A&M because of the bag money (which became evident last recruiting cycle), winning  third place in the SEC West is going to be a struggle again this year :)

They had a solid program positive last year in beating Alabama in an otherwise pedestrian year, but rather than recognize their true position in the hierarchy, they’ve promptly elevated themselves to royalty, just like every year for the last 80 years.

Did I miss where former ut commit and later ut staff member, Riley Dodge, progeny of a former ut starting qb, was hired by tech in early December and had swayed ewers toward Lubbock before Texas put their dick on the table and splashed the pot? Was there some other Southlake staffer hired?

Also, are these the same dolts who were ready to tar and feather their fourth year starting qb, the one who would lead them to just their second top 5 finish since bear bryant was their hc, because his personal statements didn’t align with the political leanings of aggie fans, in favor of their favorite malnourished true freshman qb, who lasted a mere 4.5 quarters last year (after a full year in a college s&c program) before being broken, and has seemingly already been passed on the depth chart by two dudes who weren’t on the roster six months ago?

Mond wasn’t great but he is literally the guy they now point to as an example of how a qb can flourish in jimbo’s antiquated system, yet most were ready cut their losses before the season began and nearly everyone else joined after week one. He also happens to be the only guy jimbo recruited that stuck. Considering “the world’s greatest fans” literally shit-talked the kid who delivered the win that they have been fellating themselves over ever since into the portal, I’d say they should probably shut the fuck up about how Texas manages expectations with their qbs.

Not for nothing, but I understand we’ve got Matt Stafford displacing Aaron Rodgers this year with Joe Burrow waiting in the wings, so I think we’re good..

Thank you for this. Now when these turds lament about someone missing their pool party it will take on appropriate significance.
