In WEC we have the return of Toyota and a full season of Glickenhaus in the top class, along with Alpine's grandfathered LMP1.  Peugeot has been testing the 9X8 and is hoping to make the second round at Spa (otherwise it won't  be allowed to race at Le Mans).   Bykolles can't get its shit together (and what else is new?)

The LMP2 class has 15 cars this year, including returning teams RIchard Mille, United Autosports, GDrive, JOTA, WRT, InterEuropol and ARC.  New this year is Penske, getting experience for running Porsche's LMDh.  Robert Kubica will drive for Prema Orlen's WEC debut.  AF Corse joins the LMP2 ranks from GT, Ultimate moves from ELMS/LMP3 to P2, and new team Vector Sport nabs Sebastien Bourdais and Nico Muller for their P2 operation.

Corvette joins GTE Pro with 1 car for the swansong season, making 5 cars from last year's 4.

GTE Am features 13 cars with AF Corse, Iron Lynx/Dames, Spirit of Race, Team Project 1, Dempsey Proton, GR Racing, D'Station Racing, Northwest AMR, and TF Sport rounding out the field.

Full WEC Schedule:

1000 Miles of Sebring: Mar 18

6 Hours Spa: May 7

24 Hours of Le Mans: Jun 11-12

6 Hours of Monza: July 10

6 Hours of Fuji: Sept 11

8 Hours of Bahrain: Nov 12

if you have peacock that's the best place to watch this.  no ads and no NBC channel switching fuckery.  just leaving NBC for peacock only, will be on USA later.

It's only on Peacock Premium and I won't pay those motherfuckers a goddamn dime.

Here's the listing of the portions viewable through cable/satellite.

I guess it belongs here since no more motorcycles run at Pikes Peak anymore, but the official entry list came out today.   Highlights for me are Rod Millen coming back with his 1000HP Tacoma, Mike Whiddett in a 1200 HP Mazda with a four rotor engine, and J.R Hildebrand entering a Dallara Indycar

Speaking of sportscars, I got a chance to ride along on a hot lap at COTA yesterday with a pro driver in my BIL's new 911 GT3. Insane grip, and sooooo fast. Hit close to 160 on the back straight. Car is an absolute beast.

1000 Miles of Sebring kicks of at 11 am CDT.  Nicolas Lapierre takes pole in the formerly LMP1 A480 Alpine with a time of 1:47.407.  Olivier Pla is alongside in the Glickenhaus with a 1:48.741.  3rd is the LMP2 of AF Corse driven by Nicklas Nielsen with a 1:49.014.  The No. 8 Toyota driven by Brendon Hartley starts 4th, with a couple more LMP2s before you get to the No. 7 Toyota of Jose Maria Lopez.

Shaking Head Reaction GIF by GIPHY News

goes around a porsche, moves back over and clips the porsche, goes off track and slides quite a while before banging into the tire barrier.  backs out of it and goes back on track and drives the car like it isn't damaged, then yeets off the track into the tire barrier and flips over.  jose maria lopez walked away, thankfully.  race red flagged

getting back underway with a line of storms about to move through.  probably will blow through in 10 minutes but it's going to wreck havoc

edit: spoke a bit too soon, they got underway to do a wave-around so that once the lightning passed they could hopefully get a restart in and finish under green but that didn't happen so race ended under red.  i think they put the cars that had to do a splash while parading behind the safety car back in the order they were in at the time the red first came out.

we'll do it again tomorrow with the 12 Hours of Sebring in IMSA.  so much sports to watch this weekend
