Dubose twins. They love to sling the ball around but the QB is still a very capable runner. He’s just a pass first kind of guy. Defense is pretty good as they have a safety Tyler Turner committed to Oregon. They have a receiver named Armando Acevedo, he’s 6’6” and qualified for state in the high jump last year. He’s not their main target but in my opinion he can be one of the most dangerous weapons in the entire state given his skillset. They have a short little receiver (Carter I think?) that they love throwing to a lot too.

Ooo. That’s going to be trouble for WL. As I stated above, one of the CBs is very beatable. He will need a lot of help from Magids the safety.

To be clear, my Chaps’ posts are mostly pure jest. I’ve gotten into the habit of writing them this way to entertain myself and readers. We also have deep connections to the program (hence my wife receives a state ring when we win) and as people who experienced the lean years under the former coaches, we’re enjoying every minute of this unforgettable run. Glad you are a part of this group.

As somebody who froze my ass off watching the Chaps lose to Wilmer Hutchins in 90, I celebrate your entire catalogue.  It’s been wonderful to savor this run, even from afar.

Calallen vs Boerne High for the Region title next Friday at Alamo Stadium.

I don’t care if it’s cold as fuck.   But please no more fricken rain.   Three consecutive Fridays of sitting in that shit is no bueno.

BTW, congrats to all the teams south of DFW who chose to play today instead of yesterday.

Also:

Lewisville 43 Keller 3

Does the uil have a deal with nfhs? I can find several of them there.

They have restrictions on live OTA broadcasts on Friday nights during the regular season.
I think that anyone can broadcast post season games if they get UIL approval. Bally had Carthage/Gilmer last night.

Refugio vs Shiner at San Marcos?

Any rationale on that one?  Victoria stadium is shithole?  El Campo not big enough?   All the fucking way over at San Marcos?

Hell, do football a favor and have it at NRG and class up the joint.

And they're not even doing it in Bobcat Stadium; it's at the high school.  They played in Victoria last year and had an overflow sellout IIRC.

complete shit show. if I remember right, all the concession stands were sold out BEFORE the game started. bathrooms broke down. the entire facility was out of date 30 years ago.

They should’ve scheduled it at Heros in San Antonio.  It’s has enough capacity for this game.

Since it's getting close to that time, what are my options to watch the state championship games if I don't have Bally Sports or have access to it. Is there any way to do some trial run just to watch those games? Any way to pay for some other stream who broadcasts? Preferably something I can cast to my tv.

Check Direct TV Stream to see if they have a free trial,    They did back in September and I signed so I could see the opener against ULM on the LHN.   Ended up keeping it as it was almost the same price as HULU with Live TV.   In addition to Bally and LHN, they also carry AT&T Sports Net which carries the Astros.

Has anyone done the Bally streaming service?  I notice you get a free week, but I don't know if it's the full Bally programming, or just the pro sports games?

I didn’t know they had one?    I’m sure the DCTF guys would be promoting the heck out of it if they streamed the regional stuff

They have one, but the wording of it (*) talks about "watching your favorite team" and not about having FSSW programming 24 hours per day, so I'm wondering if you only get the games for the "home teams."

FWIW my home teams are: Spurs, Stars, Dallas WNBA team, and "select ACC games."  WTF?  $19.99 per month if you do it by month: https://www.ballysports.com/packages/

The DCTF guys are busy promoting the heck out of Texan Live.  Not sure why they'd promote Bally.

(*) wording: " This package only includes access to live games in which the above-identified teams compete. "
