2022 PGA Championship at Southern Hills

Recommended Posts

- Jordan in good form to take another swing at the Grand Slam

- Scottie also in good form and playing one of his favorite courses

- Cat is back and appears to be healthier and stronger every day

- No defending champion

- Rory quietly playing well, and would seem to be a good fit for this track

- Seemingly under the radar:  Morikawa, DJ, Koepka, Rahmbo, Cam Smith, Hovland

If the weather forecast is correct Thur early/Friday late will have less wind on Thursday but could catch the rain Friday afternoon
and Thur late/Friday early get the heat and wind on Thursday but miss and Friday late gets heat and chance of rain.

Make the cut and get some unbelievably nice weather for the weekend, although you are still in Oklahoma so that sux ( just like OU)

Tulsa's an OSU town though, and we don't claim the rest of the state. :D

Went out and caught practice rounds yesterday. It's the first time I've been on the grounds since the last big overhaul and damn the place looks absolutely immaculate.

It was a little warm yesterday and should be for the rest of the week, but yeah a cold front is coming through Friday evening and it looks gorgeous for Saturday/Sunday... nothing at all like the blast furnace that was the last time the PGA Championship was here (2007) when it was 100+ every day of the event. I went out on Friday that year when it was 105 and it was goddamn miserable.

Tried to add comments to my pics but edit window passed...

The first is the view from the company chalet with #12 green on the left and #13 fairway on the right.

The second is the view from the top of the hill at the #4 green with downtown Tulsa off in the distance.

You have world #1, 2, and 3 all in the same group. And they are a very distant second in the "most compelling group."

The three golfers in this tournament that can grow the game more than any other are Tiger, Jordan, and Rory and they're in the same group. They better deliver.

Rahmbo  and Cam are fun to watch.  Besides the 3 above, who are the younger players that could really grow the popularity of golf for fans going forward.

The PGA really needs to step up their strategies and efforts on how to get more new fans and new viewers...

How do you get good at golf growing up in Norway?  Do you use a bright yellow ball and play in the snow?  Always perplexed me.

You can play 7 months out of the year.  The other 5 months you leave because you are rich.  Or you set up an indoor driving range. I bet once they figured out he was good they flew 100,000 miles a year.

My buddy got free passes to the practice round today, so I drove up from OKC to Tulsa this morning. We both commented that it was fucking hot, then realized it was only 90 and that we were old, fat pussies. Saw Sergio and Rahm, drank a $6 bottle of water, then dropped $400+ at the merch tent. Ate BBQ afterwards, had a blast.

Plus you get like 20 hours of daylight in the summer.

Followup humblebrag.

I have no idea who the vendor is that provided these to my friend, but I got my ticket for tomorrow a bit ago.  It's a Club 1916 ticket.  I don't have a DD.  Damn.

Admission to the Club 1916, a climate-controlled facility located
on-course between the 13th and 16th fairways

New for 2022, Club 1916 has been reimagined to welcome
quests into an all-inclusive food & beverage experience.

non-traditional concessions foodies, the Club features all-
inclusive food and nonalcoholic beverages, dozens of TV's, a

That Club 1916 looks awesome. I walked past it on my way to the corporate chalets.  Have fun man!

Jordan, Tiger and Rory playing together on Thursday and Friday. Best supergroup since Cream

Uh....Cream was not a "super group".

The best definition of a super group, and there will never be one more super, was The Traveling Willburys.
