Why would a 4 seed save there #1 guy?

4 seeds we have faced the last two times we’ve hosted have thrown their #2 against us.

If I’m a coach I don’t want to burn my best arm against a team I’m obviously overmatched against. Want your best arm moving you to 2-0 or keeping your season alive.

They gave aggy the overall 5 seed but also gave them one of the tougher draws IMO.

Oral Roberts as a 4 seed is tough and TCU has it's flaws but they still won the Big 12. TCU was a borderline host. Then they gave them Louisville in the Supers who is a consistent CWS team and finished top 20 in RPI.

That is far from a cakewalk.

That makes no sense. If you're overmatched then you aren't winning and will not be 2-0

We got a really good draw if we can just beat Air Force.

Dallas Baptist as a 2 is a gift. They've really struggled to end the year. Finished with 4 losses, 1 tie, and 1 win in the last 6 games.

Believe LA Tech is the 2 seed with DBU the 3.

Texas Tech gets Ga Southern.

Don't see GA Southern making it out of that one.

That's a brutal regional.  One regional gets the Campbell Camels as their 3-seed.  One gets Tech, plus Notre Dame as a 2.  Something's wrong with that.

Aggy's regional looks even more brutal.

Jeez, the SEC may have gotten overseeded, but they got some really tough draws.  I think aggy has the toughest regional in the country 1-4; if not aggy, then UF.  1-3, the toughest might be Auburn, maybe Maryland.  Plus Vandy getting shipped to Corvallis.

If I was on my computer, I’d do the work to rank the regional by W/L and RPI average (and RPI average of the top 3) but my ass ain’t doing work today

Surely you jest... That's easily one of the toughest draws.

It is.

2 seed (Big 12 champions)

3 seed (ULL beat two top 15 teams just this weekend)

4 seed (Oral Roberts is one of the toughest 4s)

As stated above, you can make an argument that aggy got the toughest draw 1-4. Maybe the NCAA did punish them for their bullshit but it just wasn't based on the seeding.

Honestly shocked we ended up with a national seed, but I’ll take it.

Our draw is pretty tough - Arky, Grand Canyon… even Missouri State can sneak up on you.

Saw they put TCU in College Station. Hopefully we get the annual “TCU shatters Aggy dreams” situation again.

No way

They pounded our pitching earlier this year.

While Gordon is fine you cannot risk not throwing your ace in game one against them.

it will be Hansen and then Gordon in game 2.

I would be utterly shocked if Pierce threw Hansen game 1, not to mention it would be stupid when you have Lucas Gordon who is just as capable

the pitching they pounded will not be seeing action against them in game 1:

Yeah, I've been really confused. I thought the national seeds were the top 8, but the term has been used these last days for the host sites, including by the NCAA itself and the talking heads.

Yeah maybe they just use it in general to describe the hosts?

But the “top 8 national seeds” host Supers if they win?

Perspective is important: they pounded our mid-week pitching, not our frontline starters.

Yep. They got a bunch of their runs and hits off of guys that won’t see a ton of action this regional. Hopefully.

Maybe we should refer to the top 8 as “super seeds” since they host supers? I personally always say “seeded teams” for top 16 and “national seeds” for top 8.
