Participants race down the 200-yard-long hill after a round of Double Gloucester cheese is sent rolling down it. The event was traditionally held by and for the people who live in the local village of Brockworth, but now people from all over the world take part. The event is thought to be around 600 years old.

My anxiety is at an 11/10 when I watch these youtube videos. Seriously stresses my body out, I can just feel the injuries I would have by watching.

So, the locals never thought to question the 600 year old nursery rhyme that accompanied the Double Gloucester Cheese Rolling Tradition?

In the downhill racing stupid carnage dept, I present Mountain of Hell. 25km downhill in the Alps on ice/snow/rocks. Thousand riders. Hundreds of wipeouts at a time. See 2:35 for the starting pileup.

That’s crazy. I’m surprised those guys aren’t wearing more padding or body armor.

My BIL did a downhill ride last year and said it was the scariest experience of his life. Lots of loose rocks, narrow paths and shear drop offs. He said the people who did it were all crazy.
