Keanu Reeves is a heck of a nice guy.

I’ve always thought he’s an average-to-terrible actor. But every interview or report like this that I’ve read all indicate he’s probably one of the better persons in the business, and a guy I’d like to have a beer with.

Same.

And I figured this thread was going to be something bad, like when Matthew Broderick killed a family in Northern Ireland.

I just don't want to watch him have that beer on the big screen

Many do, but he’s actually not that bad. It probably depends on what and when you began watching his movies. To start with River’s Edge to Permanent Record to Bill and Ted is what those in the business would call a decent range. He typecast himself with Speed as the broody monosyllabic, but he showed real chops at the outset of his career.

Well when he was in Kenneth Branagh's Much Ado About Nothing he was about as talented as a slice of ham. But whatever. Nice guy, fun movies, more power to him.

Can confirm he’s a cool dude. Served him a couple beers years ago and chatted with him a bit.

Honestly though I was much more interested in the smoke show he was with, wearing a bikini and some mesh cover thing, than talking with him.

Okay, I feel bad for joking around and saying that.

Keanu is a cool dude and would never kill a mother and daughter in Northern Ireland like Matthew Broderick did.

To piggyback the good vibes, Paul Rudd also stepped up for a kid.

Quote

Not all heroes wear capes…or ant costumes.

Paul Rudd has come to the aid of a 12 -year-old boy whose classmates refused to sign his yearbook.

News of Brody Ridder's alienating middle-school experience went viral in May after his mother Cassandra expressed her anguish on social media.

"My poor son. Doesn't seem like it's getting any better," Cassandra captioned a photo of his near-empty autograph page. "2 teachers and a total of 2 students wrote in his yearbook despite Brody asking all kinds of kids to sign it."

A Washington Post article later detailed how older students stepped in to support the Colorado preteen. In the piece, his mother revealed that her son has endured excessive bullying and "been through a lot."

The story caught the attention of Marvel star Rudd, who gave the boy a signed Ant-Man helmet and a handwritten letter. And if that weren't enough, he also surprised him with a FaceTime call.

Cassandra captured the heartwarming gesture, sharing images of the gifts as well as a clip of the conversation.

"Anyway, I heard about you," Rudd says in the video. "I'm like, 'I gotta talk to this kid because this kid sounds like my kind of guy.'

"Likes chess, likes fencing, likes dinosaurs... am I right?" he continued. "Well, I'm very excited that I get to talk to you and I get to meet you!"

The actor also imparted some wisdom to his new pal, writing him a message after their call.

"It's important to remember that even when life is tough that things get better," Rudd wrote. "There are so many people that love you and think you're the coolest kid there is — me being one of them! I can't wait to see all the amazing things you're going to accomplish."

Wow. He may not have been able to single-handedly defeat Thanos in Avengers: Endgame, but the man can sure write a letter (and warm our hearts).

The touching story also caught the attention of the Dear Evan Hansen cast, who invited Brody to attend the Broadway production of the show and bring his yearbook for them to sign.

So yeah, Rudd is right. When you have Ant-Man and Evan Hansen in your corner, it really does "get better."

He also nearly killed Jennifer Grey’s career. She had severe back injuries and survivor guilt that kept her from acting just as Dirty Dancing was getting momentum. A lot of folks think the wreck caused her plastic surgery on her nose but that was later as roles dried up. I thought she was hot as Ferris Buehler’s sister. He paid a $175 fine for careless driving though he was originally charged with a criminal charge. I don’t know if he got sued.

Who are these fucking shithead kids who refused to sign another kid’s yearbook? FFS.

I don’t care if you aren’t good friends or the kid is a “dork” or whatever… take two seconds and at least sign your name you little pieces of shit.

Especially since they may end up working for dorks later on.

Hell, just sign it with something like “thanks for not ratting me out to the feds” or “I promise that I will never tell what happened in that attic” or “hey, mother of yearbook owner, hit me up if you need some pipe laid” or “hey, sister of yearbook owner, hit me up in a few years when you turn 18” or “what happened on the night of October 30 escalated a little too fast and got really dark and I still don’t know how none of us were arrested for it, but it’s nothing compared to how dark things will get if you ever tell anybody” or “I’m not into dudes, but I gotta say, when you whipped it out in front of Mrs. Jackson’s second-period world geography class, I was impressed” or “your fears were justified, it wasn’t mayonnaise” or “I thought killing all those dogs and cats was weird, but otherwise you seemed like a nice guy” or “congrats to the only senior who banged the principal’s wife this year” or “thank you for not shooting up the school”.

He's better than good with philanthropy also.

Whether helping individual people out on his movie sets, deferring his personal payment for the success of movies or projects, or donating his own money to further his charitable organizations.

I wouldn't mind having a beer 🍻 with him too.
