Sure CSN is phenomenal.  As is CSN&Y.  But Steven’s guitar is still, to this day, unlike any other. He was the best of the 3.  And I have seen them many, many times.

Fantastic song. The Isley Bros cover is exceptional as well.

Always liked this one.  Plus, Jerry Garcia on pedal steel.

I assume it’s common knowledge that Jerry played pedal steel on Teach Your Children. The Dead were in the same studio as CSNY at the time, recording tracks that would go on their American Beauty and Workingman’s Dead albums. Reportedly Jerry played pedal steel for CSNY and in return the Dead got some pointers on singing harmony. American Beauty and Workingman’s Dead are two of their more accessible albums for the casual listener featuring a countrified style that was a departure from their psychedelic sound of the 60’s.

Stephen Stills joined the Dead on stage on a few occasions. Here’s Black Queen from 12/10/69. (The other dates were 4/16-17/93.) Stephen played on five songs here, you can find the whole show online if you’re so inclined. This has a hard cut at the end as they were about to segue into Turn On Your Lovelight.
