Oh yes.  Plenty of companies are selling your data about everything.

what are they hacking to get it? the ISP? google? is there some big database they can hack into to search on a whim? or do they have to target your PC to hack to steal your info? if it's the first, we are all fucked and there's not much any of us can do about it. if it's the second, i guess VPN and then by hyper vigilant on what sites you visit and delete all your cookies and history after each browsing session.

It's probably fake.  There is zero chance that someone hacked that dudes search history and the most embarrassing thing found was cheap hospice care.

If we really, really want to go down this rabbit hole…

to start, while some data is obtained via hackers, that os a fraction of what is out there for sale. All disguised as marketing/advertising/etc data.

The web is so full of tracking shit it’s ridiculous. And I’m not talking about obvious shit.

Piece together enough shit and it isn’t overly difficult to not only identify, but track a known person across the web.

back the fuck up....

you can buy someone's search history on the "dark web"? the fuck?

someone please explain how.

Just make sure you browse using the "Incognito window"... as for sure they won't track what you are telling them you don't want them to track 😀

I've got Ghostery installed for this very reason.

I mean…sometimes you really wanna glass of milk, you know?
Also, I know a person who is a rather high-up govt official now. Super religious, big show about not drinking booze. Whenever we’d go to a bar, he would order a glass of milk. Whatever, dude - just order a water, or soda or something. Milk. At a goddamn bar.

What an effing loon....
