It just sucks Rori was out those first few games.

How many games does Texas win out of Louisville, UCONN, and Marquette with Rori? I say 2. They would probably be top 5 in NET with Rori healthy.

Probably a 1 or 2 loss team with Rori playing all season.

Texas Women's Basketball Media Availability [Dec. 27, 2022]

Taylor Jones: Vic said she’s got an appointment in a week or two, said she’s feeling good and was doing stuff off the court today which he said was encouraging. Said hopefully they would get a good report when she goes in.

Defense: He was asked if he ever tells the team to back off on defensive aggression due to the team being thin at spots and he said he didn’t think you could ever tell kids not to play hard; you can’t play worried something might happen so no that’s not a conversation they have ever had.

Said Christmas travel was a real struggle for a number of players but they did get them all back.

TAMu commerce won the 4th quarter. Our bench isn’t deep due to injury and it shows

Masudi and Gutierrez finished the game on the floor. I don’t think Rori or Morris even played the 4th Q. Faye and Gaston played less than 20 min each. No one was in foul trouble either.

Who cares about who won the 4th Q. We were up 40 points going into the final frame.

Vic Shaffer! After we routed JSU, Vic lamented the 4th quarter performance as much as he did the first 3 quarters. Garbage time is serious business in Vic’s mind lol

Lol Vic has to find something to bitch about in these blowout games. Because we only had 6 TOs in the game and forced 20.

If KState plays like they did in their win against Iowa, this is going to be a tough one. They have played us tougher than Iowa State in recent years despite mostly being lower ranked than ISU

That’s because ISU is a finesse team that Vic’s defense can stop pretty easily. KSU plays a more post-oriented type of offense, or did when Lee was healthy, and our post players neutralized her pretty easily.

This will be an interesting matchup without Lee and our post depth

I said this a couple games ago but this looks more like a Schaefer team.

Moore was obviously a loss but replacing her with Faye/Muhammad at the 4 has made this team much more athletic and defensive minded. Also, Schaefer is starting to stagger the Gonzales and Morris minutes.

A starting 5 with Moore, Gonzales, and Morris just didn't fit what Schaefer wants to do on the defensive end.

And Gonzales is scoring while Morris is not. If those two ever played at the same level in the same game, that would be nice

Morris 0-7 while Shaylee is 5-12 for 14 points

I don't think zone really works against this team.

I know Morris has been cold but Morris and Gonzales can shoot. This won't be a viable strategy.

Took Morris some time but 9-23 as a team will get it done.

Morris 4-10 but 4-4 after going 0-6

Shaylee 2-5

Holle 3-5

I thought the ceiling was going to be much lower once Moore was injured but not totally sure she's all that much better than Muhammad.

This team can still be really good if Muhammad keeps playing like this.

Get Jones back and Rori is 100% healthy. Rank us again, cowards!

Anissa bucket. The Mood is lit!
