2022 Election Day Thread - Midterm Rumble

Probably no one, but he can't just keep losing elections if he wants to make this state or country better.  He's got to get into an office where he can do something and build his resume back up.

He makes the state better by helping down ballot candidates get additional votes which can make the difference between winning and losing. We will see what he does in the future.

I don’t give a fuck about his resume. If he wants to go work in DC tomorrow, Biden will appoint him to something.

Or; They like making money and reject social equity promises because their world experience does not show this line of thinking to be realistic or attainable. We Cubans have lived the true side of socialist agendas and reject that bullshit for what it is. You will find this is the case with Central Americans, Mexicans and the rest of the Hispanics who have made their way here largely by working, and not working the system.
Side note; I am quite embarrassed that 44% of my fellow Texans continue to run some Irish kid who changes his name to Beto for political gain. You fuckers are less self aware than the nazis in BCS.

The Dems need to figure out how to win the Hispanic vote back.  The GOP has made big gains in the latino vote in the last decade or so.  The state can be purple, but it would require a great deal of competence.  I'm not sure the Dems have it in them.

Apparently taking pictures like this would help.

The socialist! theme will always work with Cuban voters.

You could have some pretty amazing stuff happen in a 3 seat majority house.  Some tiny caucus holding out for outrageous stuff and actually getting it.

It’s too bad the stakes of R vs D are very literally existential these days. It would otherwise be fascinating to watch.

That fucking Cuomo NY court. How they hell can they not anticipate what was going to happen in Florida? Detrumpis is on the warpath. We needed those NY seats to offset Florida. We also need the Supreme Court to not be retarded and award the minority districts to Louisiana and Alabama dems as the law is written.

In all fairness, the District  (with two Trump appointees) court put an enormous amount of work into the AL and LA VRA decision, but Kav gonna Kav.

But yeah, if NY had been a bit more thoughtful and less greedy, they could have easily taken 3 seats

I mean all it takes is a candidate who is actually electable. Beto is fucking garbage one of the worst candidates in a while. Worse than a literal potato.

He sucks but was better than whomever it was they ran four years ago.

It’s amazing the statewide Texas races seemed to be more in favor of the GQP than ever before. There’s no turning purple for Texas, ever.

Yeah the people who could turn it purple are getting the fuck out.  Sorry guys.

Texas was turning, but then a shitload of Republicans moved here from California, Colorado, etc.

That’s my guess.

That’s just in Denton. Dude won with 75% of the vote lol

Gonzalez over Flores is the only upset in the Texas House delegation.

Gonzalez was a massive favorite in that district (which includes my hometown). He got gerrymandered into the 34th and smoked her like he was expected to.

Who would have outperformed him?

I’m glad he ran so at least it was someone running for governor who had appeal and could hopefully give some benefit to down ballot candidates in certain areas.

It makes me happy any time a Dem makes Republicans spend money on a seat they usually easily hold.

Pelosi has never lost a vote on the house floor. Paul Ryan lost a vote seemingly every week. I expect similar incompetence from McCarthy.

I hope Pelosi doesn't retire, or at least somehow passes on some of that knowledge to her proteges.

Yeah but most of those people are moving to the large cities, they arent moving to Possum Fuck, Texas. I think the answer lies more in the hispanic vote being more GOP than you would think would be the case.
