Bobby (IT) reporting that we should hear about the hire of the 'Special Assistant to the Head Coach' as early as today, or tomorrow.   Expect it to be an offensive minded-guy.  The hire has nothing to do with Gary Patterson, though IT still think it unlikely Patterson returns for next season.

Any idea who this is? Dodge? Cutcliffe? Sean McVay stepping away after all and bringing Kliff plus gf with him?

If it’s a choice between Dodge and Cutcliffe we are basically choosing between a Ewers guy and a Manning guy.

Isn’t that kind of position more for a seasoned coach? Cutcliffe is an interesting name if so.

Dodge's name was brought up on IT when talking about the Director of High School Relations position - but Nahlin said that it would probably have to come with the promise of a bigger role.   A position like this might be a way to bring Dodge in and give him a chance to coach without making him one of the 11 spots on staff.

How do y'all know the Dodge up for "offensive special Assistant to the head coach" isn't the older Dodge?

Anwar Richardson said multiple sources have told him that Joe Price (UTSA) and Malcolm Kelly were contacted last week. Neither officially interviewed.

9.95 please

Anwar's info just reeks of bullshit -- just helping his buddies get their names out in an attempt to get raises.

@TreatyOak probably knows more, but I swear in maybe DCTF mag or an interview with the AAS Todd Dodge said something like “I’m planning on taking a year off then maybe coach a little in college.” I assumed he’d be an offensive analyst or whatever the fuck for us by this or next year when I read that.

Per Crimson Tide 24/7 Holman Wiggins let go at Bama today. Is he back on the table for us?

I told you guys he wasn’t well thought of at Bama. Edit: well never mind then. Looks like false rumor.

Dumb question maybe but how does an NCAA team get anywhere close to paying an individual more than an NFL team would a similar Coaching position.

NFL teams are owned by greedy old white billionaires, and they prefer to pay out as little as possible, have taxpayers build their stadiums, etc.

They like to line their own pockets to the greatest degree possible.   They've got asian MILFs at jack shacks that need to be tipped at least a Benjie for a handjob.  Us regular guys just pay $40.

From a poster on IT

“Such and Roach have both hinted tonight Coach Jahmal Fenner of LBJ is gonna be the replacement for Gilbert.”

Don’t really have a good grip on this hire because he’s not in our region so not sure what his perception is among coaching circles. He coaches at the best of the Austin schools but they are in a really bad district that he just beats up on regularly. Miller would’ve clearly been the HR hire but this is a weird position for a coach that has only been a HC for a few seasons to take. Fenner has only been the HC at LBJ since ‘18. Sorry a lot of words to say nothing. This job should be easy to fill. You just go to this site https://www.thsca.com/board

If Malcolm Kelly was that open to leaving TCU, he would at his alma mater right now. There is a reason he has been at TCU going on 5 season now and it is probably due to the fact he is very well compensated and his next step in his career is probably not another WR coach job.

he evidently is and has been quite upset since OU coaches burned him to NFL scouts and has had little to do with the program since then per what has been said about him around here.

Bobby (IT) confirmed this morning that Fenner is a candidate and the 'name to follow' for the Director of High School Relations position.

Brendan Harris just started following Fenner.

Hiring the heavily-involved son of the architect of your biggest rival's extensively documented rape culture?

They have a few good prospects in the pipeline, so that doesn't suck.

That would suck. If we hire them we can’t sign any of those kids for at least one recruiting cycle, might even be two. One of these other rule geeks can correct me. I just remember it because of Gilbert and giving us an excuse to dump Phaison Wilson (or whatever his fucking name was)
