the way forward is to dim down the ACC agreement to 2 games per year, and then cut the same deal with the Big 10, SEC and Big 12. Keep the Navy game, of course, and one other G6, like Rice next year, as an example, and then mix in 2 random home and homes with teams not in the rotation during each year from the P4

that is 100% aggy delusion of agency

you will give us this, and you will not have that, we will let you do this, we will not let you do that

after what just happened on sunday, and with the disclosure yesterday of this "top 12 MOU", how can these fuckwads believe for a second that the b1g and sec, the leagues and the the teams, how any of them want anything to do with domer, much less expand and broaden the tentacles of their special rules rights and privileges?

This is similar to the bullshit people float about “no new conference would take Texas” that aggies would tell anyone right up until July of 2021. If Notre Dame told the Big 10 they were ready to join as a full member, the Big 10’s response would be “how soon can you start?!” 💯

for the good of the game so we can get on with the expansion, i hope you are right, it's where they belong, and they could balance the add with syracuse, or drop rutgers or corn

That's always the answer.

splain me how domer's 50 million nbc deal split 18 ways is worth it to the b1g or sec?

domer is going to want a full share PLUS 50% of their incremental add

they are going to have to feel pain in the form of a sec/b1g boycott by the 11 teams cancelling their current contracts and waterboarding nbc

this presser is going to be goald

My god. I'd rather watch mid-week MACtion than any of this dogshit.

Did they hire Lou Holtz to schedule their games? Is there a new Suddenly Susan episode on after they end?

You asked why.
You didn't say it had to make sense.
Being stupid in spite of reason or logic is at the very core of this (very profitable) pile of shit.

ND is starting to find out that as the older generations are starting to age out, none of the younger generations care about what they did in the 70s and 80s.

The loss in revenue for Texas from not playing ND at home would more than be made up for by making the playoffs. So let’s increase our odds of doing that while also telling ND to go fuck themselves.

Let ND throw a fit and cancel the game themselves. No need to waste our money if we can get a couple million from them.

Every FBS team should drop ND from their OOC schedules immediately. They’ll never sniff a playoff spot again without other FBS teams giving them marquee matchups since their SOS would be horrible.

ND has significant leverage with the ACC. ND-Miami was the highest rated game involving any ACC team and I’m pretty sure if all, but not most ACC teams that played them saw their highest or second highest ratings of the year for that game.

And a lot of those schools will want to play them anyway. That’s BCs only shot at a sellout. GameDay is never at Pitt without the Domers. The top tier of the SEC and Big Ten can tell them to fuck off but the Rutgers and Cincis and Kansas’ of the world are gonna take that call.

And eventually this whole mania not to schedule good OOC teams will die down and good programs will realize you can’t just put a dollar sign on having the spotlight on you all spring and summer as you get ready for a great OOC tilt. Being the first GameDay of the season. Someone will get bold and schedule a good series, ans maybe get rewarded with a CFP berth and things will swing the other way.

Media partners will start griping too if it becomes a pattern of the most valuable properties ducking each other on purpose, it’d be like the Yanks and Mets pulling down the Subway Series and expecting no one to react.

A single-program cancellation won’t move the needle, but no one in the SEC or the Big Ten FO wants to be renegotiating the rights and get shown shitty, declining ratings for the first 2-3 weeks of the season.

ND just has to join a big boy conference to make this all better. They could easily win the ACC most years, and be at least runner up at worst. They already have their other sports in the ACC, so they just need to work out a deal with NBC and the ACC for revenue of games. They would still have 3 non-conf games they can schedule every year if they want to maintain any rivalries, which should be plenty for them. It's a no-brainer to anyone who doesn't give a shit about their "special little school" mentality and independent status.

This I agree with.  Too much money to be made by networks.  I didn't think expansion to 24 was realistically on the table but that, combined with greater emphasis on SOS, would likely create enough of a buffer that schools like Texas, UGA, Bama, Ohio St., Michigan, etc. would keep those games on the calendar.

Fucking pathetic. If you can't go 11-1 with that schedule, you should perma-ban yourself to the FCS until you get your shit together.

We feel jobbed by the CFP committee, but they have been telegraphing this move for weeks so we expected it. We were not shocked like ND. Even still we feel like every year we are taking a step forward. First year in P4 was rough (5-7). Y2 we were 11-2 and almost made the CCG and the CFP. Y3 we were 11-1, made the CCG, and just barely missed the CFP. We also just signed our highest rated recruiting class ever (#21), locked in our head coach, and have increased commitments for NIL. We are ascendant and the future looks bright.

Kalani is taking the high road and saying all the right things and showing respect for Georgia Tech. We all wanted to play ND, show we are better than them, and show we deserved to be in the CFP. We want to take our righteous anger out on our next opponent like we did to Colorado last year after getting snubbed by the CFP.

We mostly think ND is acting like cowards (they knew they would be playing BYU and decline) and crybabies. They are throwing a fit.

Some history. We had a 6 game contract during independence with ND. It was a 2-for-1 home/away balance. When they made a deal with the ACC that complicated the series and delayed it. We had played 2 games in Bend and we were trying to get the game in Provo scheduled. They wouldn't fulfill their agreement and refused to come to Provo. We ended up playing a neutral in Vegas to close out the shortened deal. We see it as another bitchass move on their part, just like the refusal to play us again this year. A lot of BYU fans are sick of their antics.

My magical underwear wearing dude here is making too much sense. Do you know where you are?

And look at Miami: they are in the playoffs BECAUSE of playing ND, if they had played Stanford then they’re at home and Texas, Vandy, or BYU is in. All it will take is one less than blueblood sneaking in cause they scheduled boldly and the pendulum will go back.

We could use a couple more doormats in the SEC to match up with the B1G's shitty bottom half. We should take in ND and SMU.

Yea we just talked about cancelling games knowing we won’t cancel shit. ND straight said fuck the bowl and walked off. Bunch of pussies. Notre Dame schedule looks about as bad  as a big 12 shit schedule but just a tad worse.

put another way, Texas playing ND only helps ND and can potentially hurt Texas. We don't need the SOR / SOS , replace them with whoever the Tech is scheduling

This would be awesome if all P4's stopped playing them and they fall into University of Chicago status in 10 years.

Fuck that. University of Chicago is prestigious. I want them to fall into Sac State territory. Although, academically they wouldn't, but the least we can hope for is a William & Mary relevance.

I hope someone at that presser confronts 'ol Pete with about next year's wimpy ass schedule, the fact they already trying to "back in" to next year's CFP, not playing a bowl game, not being a part of conference, killing student assistants and Manti Te'o and whatever else they think of.  Someone should put together some abrasive/condescending/snarky signage for the attendees to shove in his face. Pete is a real piece of work; he fits right in there with the rest of the degenerates.

Because the ACC should have lobbied for ND, a partial member, over Miami, a full member. Obviously.

Maybe they should have lobbied for Miami without shitting on ND. Can you imagine if the SEC compared Alabama to Texas on why Alabama should be in

The only thing that ND has a right to be pissed off at is that the committee jerked them off for weeks making them think they were safe, and then pulled the rug out from under them at the last minute.

I think it's fucking hilarious, but if it were me I'd be pissed. Other than that, their resume is trash.

Would the other conferences even be receptive to that? My hope is that they wouldn't, but money is money. What is the difference in $$ for a team that regularly sells out its stadium in playing ND vs. a home/home with NC State or Stanford, to use your hypothetical?

It's all about the tv deals high ratings gives then leverage the next time rights negotiations come up
