Maybe the concussion knocked something back into place that got loose when he was concussed vs Georgia last year?

OL was a little better today but to me the biggest part of that was Manning getting the ball out on time all day.

It seemed to me like we called plays more aligned with 2h of Miss St game from the opening kickoff today. Much easier for Arch to make reads and decisions.

So you don't have any idea. You are just here talking shit to fellow fans for no reason. SEC rant is thataway.

What I think about why we won has nothing to do with my thinking that you were Quinn's agent. And I don't want to read your long ass rants, which is why I didn't give you a serious reply.

You didn't give me a serious reply because you don't know. You didn't agree with me about Quinn because you didn't know then either.

I’ll give him a clue … Arch’s best three games are summed up by the second half of Oklahoma, 4th quarter of MSU and first three quarters of Vandy.  What did they all have in common? And what was different about all other games and periods not mentioned in the above?

Fuck it I’ll answer it myself - spread the field, 5 wide, 3-4 wide with RB and TEs running routes too. Spread out the defense too. Quick routes. Quick passes, using the pass to set up the run. Waiting until the defense is gassed to run. No pro style long developing plays, no under center 5-7 step drops, etc. Basically scheme.

And sark better go with it the rest of the way.

Fast pace, no huddle, 4 min offense too.

Quinn did and arch can rip college football to shreds in  the offense sark calls when we are down or when he’s afraid of arch getting hit.

god I hope it’s all we do to Georgia but I’m going to be ready for stupidity to start the game in Athens. Pro style bitches !! @&#%#@&$!!!!!

Not sure what you are talking about.  Sark called a brllliant game.

the 3rd and 6 to Moseley was to win the game.  Some would argue you run it there and then run it again, but THAT would be a bitch move. Sark put his nuts on the field with that play.

Rarely mentioned is this also makes blocking easier for the OL (not as easy to  run games on them) and it they have to hold blocks shorter. Hated watching Sark run routes breaking at 12-15 yards on 3rd 7-8.. Given me a crosser in the mix where someone can run for the first

It was implied in my post but yeah you talk “complimentary football” the coach calling plays the Oline can handle that arch can handle etc etc makes it all work better. Oline looks better arch throws better, wisner is a solid A- back but he looks like an all American in the second half after the Dline has been chasing arch to no avail all first half.

If we didn't get screwed on the touchdown or on the bs false start his play calling would've been fine. Or you know the holding call the commentators couldn't find.

Yes. I'd also thought Arch's poor play was bringing the team down as a whole. Now we see the inverse. I think the comeback win and his play in this game have the guys thinking we're in any game. I hated the end. It seems we always have to have a shit fight every week. The one play touchdown "drive" to start shit in the fourth was sickening.

The blatant interference on the near td catch was infuriating. Anyway, I feel better about stuff going forward. If our defense is intact, I think we give Georgia all they want. Arch's quicker release and hitting to short passes is very encouraging.

lotta nfl throws today. in fact a lot of throws that look remarkably similar to his uncle peyton’s throws- ugly wobblers that are right on the money. side note, “ugly wobblers” is Vic Mackey’s no.1 search on pornhub.

Manning was 8 of 10 for 146 and 3 TD’s when Vandy blitzed 5 or more pass rushers today.

Oline actually blocked well and gave him longer than .3 seconds for most of the day

Sark primarily called the shorter routes which develop quicker earlier in the game. Way fewer 5 step drop packages. Which is exactly like the 2h of MSU. It's mainly because the OL isn't having to extend the block for as long and its a less complex blocking scheme. Which, gasp, shock, gives Arch quicker decision making plays and time to make then.

OU was the same. Some people have a hard time connecting the dots between how much time a QB has to throw and the amount of success he has throwing.

I was hoping that Sark would run this scheme with Caldwell. When I found out Arch was playing I was really nervous he'd go back to his old faithful 12 step sack game plan.

That he didn't was highly unexpected and pleasing, particularly with the associated success.

We can only pray you (and I) are wrong and Sark does think "Oh, they have a good D, better run my uber awesome pro-style to offset their speed.".

The WR played hard, made some good catches and acted like they gave a shit. Mosley is really turning out to be an excellent portal pick up. He's doing a lot of heavy lifting.

Arch was a shit sandwich in the beginning of the season, I think things are starting to turn on now, he has been very good the past couple of games. One thing people can't take away from him through his growing pains and his good moments is that the kid is tough and he's not scared.

Young QB struggles early in career with young oline and receiving corp.  That's a scoop.

The interesting thing today vs msu 4th quarter.  We went away from play action almost entirely in the comeback and some credited that with Arch's success.  We ran a whole bunch of play action today and Arch was even better against a better D.

Man I don’t think so.  He was going to for the win late.  When the 4th started you’re up 31-10 and you’re not going full throttle. No one is. Only real way to let them back in is turnovers.  You go conservative up 21.

when the defense started falling apart and they were still up 7-10 late he was trying to be aggressive to win the game and the refs fucked them

I  know we’re quick to blame him for everything but that’s silly. If he has been aggressive all 4th quarter and. A sack double or pick would have happened then you guys would have been mad at him for being aggressive.

That’s where he’s going to excel. He played very well today due to a lot of factors.

It wasn’t just “young QB”. He had made a marked improvement with his accuracy.

there were still a few throws that were off…but instead of them being flat out misses, they were close enough to be completed and he balled out.

Yes because he is learning and getting experience and the game is slowing down for him.  That was my point.  Plus, it isn't like he has a veteran online and superstar running back to lean on while he settles in.  Arch is doing great.

The “getting the ball out on time and reading the field” has gotten better with experience.

the accuracy issues that he had until lay last week were not due to that.  Maybe it’s simply confidence. But he’s much more accurate now than Before and it had little to do with the run game and OL IMO.

and yes. He has shown the improvement needed and was a key reason they’ve won the last 2 weeks. I hope he does the same vs Georgia.

This. One day in a major game we will see the whole bag of tricks in real time—see the entire switch flipped. Once he grows into all of it, once that switch flips, it will be fantastic to watch. Hope it happens while he’s still wearing burnt orange. He can make all the throws. Wait until he gets it all together. Damn.

What’s funny is. Or not actually that funny. Is that the “test” for concussion in the 90s was “can you remember your name?” Which I could. But I was just terrified of what I could not remember. Such a weird feeling. I was joking in my first post, but honestly it’s a really fucked up experience.

2 straight games.

Against non cupcakes on the season his yards per game were

170

263

166

132

Then the last 2 games he's gone for 346 and 328.

He's seemingly gotten past his accuracy issues these last 2 weeks. The line has also stabilized with a lineup that should have started the season in game 1 with Hutson at G and Robertson at C. It still isn't anywhere near good, but it isn't the full on sieve that it was before last week.

It was flat out absolutely good in pass pro.

Arch played well for not one or two reasons. There were a confluence of factors that have helped him and the offense play better since the 4th quarter of the last game. Today's OL was markedly better than what we trotted out in previous games.I couldn't believe how well they played. I hope Sark sticks with this combination going forward.

We also ran the ball well early, which is always good for the QB to settle down. Then you have better WR play, better playcalling to ease Arch into the game with some quick and easy throws. Playing at home with more rest probably played a role as well. Lastly, just the normal maturation process by a young QB. The last comeback win must have done wonders to his confidence.

UGA will be a challege because some of the factors that helped Arch in this game won't be there. Also, UGA is incredibly hard to beat, especially at home. I hope Sark comes out with a gameplan like the Bama game and Arch can execute the way Quinn did.
