Holy shit...

Death

Oliver died by suicide from a self-inflicted gunshot on September 24, 2013.[14] He is survived by his wife Chelsea (née Young), and two children.[15] Police on the incident state that Oliver shot himself in front of his wife and his two young boys.[16]

It was later determined through analysis of Oliver's brain that he suffered from an advanced form of chronic traumatic encephalopathy, or CTE, caused by repeated hits to the head he endured during his football playing career.[17] He is one of at least 345 NFL players to be diagnosed after death with this disease.[18]

Oh yeah, I forgot it was in front of his wife and kids. When I saw the video of him it broke my heart.

Yeah, what's sad is had I not randomly clicked on that video on YouTube, I would have never known about it. So many players dying and it's barely spoken about.

The NFL basically has your base level "concussions" meetings, but they don't give a shit about the pkayers because $$$. Boston University is the only university to actively study it full-time. Soccer players from the PL, La Liga, Ligue 1, and Bundesliga also havw guys taking their own lives after their playing days and a few while they were still playing. Same with Hockey, Lacrosse, etc. It's incredible that we don't see it come up more often, even veterans from Special Forces and the front lines. It's becoming more and more common, especially with veterans from IED explosions, collapsing buildings, being shot at and shit falling all over you, guys falling out of helicopters at take off. It's nuts, dude.

Until someone runs a microwave and then you piss your pants and can’t remember your name for 20 minutes.

Well, damn.  I guess I have to find a neurologist.

Wait . . . Arch is playing but Taaffe might not be?  That seems weird.  Taaffe can't play in a cast/splint?

Taaffe is significantly less essential tomorrow than Arch. It makes sense to let him get 2 more weeks to heal.

A guy that specializes in run support against a running qb? Less essential than a qb that is probably gonna be off?

I wouldn't say Taaffe is significantly MORE essential, but he puts guys in the right spots.  His absense against MSU was pretty obvious.

I'm going to go on the assumption that the concussion protocols are a lot more advanced than "rub some dirt on it" and that risk is minimized if he clears proper medical evaluations.

Agreed. If he can go, let’s roll with him. I’m not going to hope anything. He wouldn’t play if he wasn’t healthy and any message board jockey knows nothing.

Last year, Pavia literally name dropped Michael Taaffe as one of the toughest opponents he has played against. No one is happier to see Taaffe on the sideline and not on the field than Pavia.

That’s not how Pavia thinks.

Pavia wants to show the tough opponent that he is even more of a man this year than he was last year.

Well he was hot at the end of the game so maybe he can keep out going tomorrow

Yes, once MSU started playing prevent defense and Sark started calling quicker plays, Arch could complete passes.

Not sure that Vandy is going to start the game in a prevent defense.

Who knows what the fuck Sark is going to do? It rarely is the smart thing. It frequently is the “Look how smart I am!” thing…

…which is frequently pretty fucking stupid.

Pavia’s got friends in every town and village from here to the Sudan, he speaks a dozen languages, knows every local custom, he'll blend in, disappear, you'll never see him again. With any luck, he's got the grail already.

Pavia needs to be deported.

MSU was never playing prevent.

Is his mom gonna need a safe place to hide from the authorities? My cabin in the woods is remote without neighbors, so she'd be very safe here.

Not to pile on, but you should watch a couple of YT vids on "prevent defense"

Maybe the concussion knocked something back into place that got loose when he was concussed vs Georgia last year?

The math checks out
