Arch Manning, right now, is the best Texas qb since…???

i have to go back to colt before i pick another Texas qb to lead my team.

Yeah he was Colt 2009 last night. Got the yards with his feet to get into position for the FG in the first half. Was dealing with tremendous pressure that knocked him off his game. Answered with about one of the best performances we've seen. Running game finally worked and helped take the pressure off him.

I think he didn't for two coaching reasons.  First, fear of injury, second, developing an over-dependence on it.  He probably could have run his way out of numerous bad plays, some of his own making, with varying degrees of success, and probably also missed a couple more games.

As frustrating as it may have been not to have him run out of bad plays, Arch's ability to stand in the pocket, and often deliver, see above, is one of his great skills.

Arch has noted that there was some fear of running post the MSU injury, and that is absolutely understandable. Arch's ability to avoid sacks, keep his head down field and frequently deliver amazing passes is unmatched in college football right now. Those who can't see what an amazing job he's done this year with the lack of support he's had around him as a 1st year starter are haters and will continue to do so until he wins an national championship. If our HC gets him the support in OL, WR and RB he needs, he absolutely will.

Why doesn’t Arch just outrun the whole defense like last night? Is he stupid or something?

Can’t get hurt if you don’t get touched

I mean, you're not wrong.

What should scare the hell out of our future opponents is how fast Arch is progressing and what he's able to do despite still being as raw as he is.

Objectively his first month of the season was horrific. He had the yips against UTEP and parts of San Jose St. He was breaking inaccuracy records and looked like Ty Swoopes. I believe he was one bad quarter away from being benched.

His recovery has been impressive. Now I’m worried he’ll turn pro. My advice to him and his family is to return and not make a big deal about returning.

That being said, I think if the Saints have the first or second pick behind the Titans, they’d be down after some conversations.

With the way he's played down the stretch, I just hope he's back next season. Someone would take him in the 1st round.

He would have gone in the first round last season, he would have gone in the first round this year.

Arch will evolve to his final form if he can improve his accuracy in the short and intermediate passing game. That should be the primary focus in the offseason. It would do wonders for the offense if he could throw quick slants and crossers consistently.

He will come back and we should have one filthy offense next year. If we get a line to protect and unleash our 5 ️ freshman wideouts with Mosely and Wingo…we will be dangerous.

It don’t mean a shit if we have no run game - Sark has to fix the OL issues and find RBs.

either colt or VY was the last qb we’ve had who could do this. we’ve been waiting 15+ years for this. thank god we didn’t listen to surly and send arch to the portal after week five of his first year as a starter. limitless future.

Jerrod Heard did it for, like, 1 game

and this is where you always lose me. At this point in his career he isn't better than the guy that was here last year.

this is an insane take. better passer, higher iq, better athlete, incredible pocket presence vs terrible pocket presence, actual playmaker vs human folding chair, one guy who shrinks beneath the talent and production of everyone around him vs another guy who, as the best player and leader of his offense, lifts the play of everyone around him. it’s not even close. id entertain a debate about sam vs quinn, but arch is already beyond what QE ever was as a qb at Texas.

your cult like worship of quinn ewers has been duly noted, and your fanaticism at this point is unmatched. arch is going to get heisman votes this year. imagine what he could have done with any of quinn’s supporting casts.
