Yeah I think certain resorts. You can work the game and try to find some decent deals like the Epic Day pass at CB or some of the packages at Copper.  If you want to go somewhere like Breck or Park City, geeet ready.  And you will still get bent over on lessons and rentals.

Honestly for my money, I'm always going to try to go to Taos or Crested Butte. I feel like the amount of value I get in those places is great. I need to buy my youngest his own pair of skis.  He was on 168s this past trip.  I was super tempted to get him a pair while in Europe and bring them back because they were having amazing end of season deals. Like stupid deals.

we have done epic early bird for fam of 4 for the last 4 years or so.  Worth it if you can make 2 trips per year.  We generally get 4 days over Pres Day weekend (kids school is out prior Thur/Fri) and 5-6 days over SB, so 9-10 days on a ~$600ish pass.  Did Vail over SB and Keystone over pres day.  Hit CB  and Whistler (and Chile non pass) last year.  PC and Canyons before that so it beats buying lift tickers for sure but both Epic and Ikon raised prices for next season.  looking at trying Ikon pass for next season.  really want to hit Japan!

I have my own board and boots.  wife has boots.  oldest is now 16 so could get his skis for sure.  maybe wait on his boots, but could save some $$ by buying.

That's a wrap! Got in one final day at Breck yesterday following the big snowfall on Friday. By about 1p a lot of that powder in south facing areas was turning to slush so called it. Told my 7 year old no need to risk injury in late April.

Saw that this week.  Absolutely horrifying.  I don't really understand how no one died (1 still missing?) and google isn't helping.  Did they know this was coming and everyone had budded out?

* Skied Saas-Fee back in HS (87 or 88 ish?).  Don't remember it at all, just that it's where we were.

Yeah they got everyone out just a few days before.  They knew something was up.

Not sure what happened to Belalp higher up.  It is/was (?) a car-free village above treeline with a lift that has views of the Aletsch Glacier.  Different glacier.  Longest in Europe.

Heading up to Whitefish, Montana for rest of summer in a couple days.  Thinking about skiing A Basin on way if it is open this weekend.  I like the mountain and grew up skiing Summit County.  But I have never skied there this late.  What's it like in June?  Has to be slushy, I assume.

I've skied it later in May three times.... remember two great years, one not so great but even the not so great year gave access to bootpacking terrain on the east wall.  Just check the trail status.  Right now not really showing much since they're only open Friday - Sunday.
