Maybe I don’t remember the story fully, but didn’t he get caught calling an escort service? It’s dumb as hell for someone in his position, but better than picking up a coed or grad assistant. I’m sure beat Bama twice and a NY Day bowl win outrank that on the AD’s list.

If you want to burn the AD’s office down, it would seem that the vacated wins, bowl ban, and Level 1 violations would be a better place to start.

That was what was proven and he was fired for, but he's one of those guys that seems to generate slimy stories wherever he goes.

Ha. Please let this happen. It is gratifying on every possible level.

1) The ISU fans spoke with fervent and frequent certainty that Campbell was just happy to be in Ames, hanging out as the regular old joe coaching those Cyclones.

2) Campbell winding up with this kind of gig instead of one with the Detroit Lions or P5s that came knocking is a fun comeuppance.

3) I'm always entertained by other Big 12 programs having their pants pulled down in public. They're always all too happy to laugh at mean old Texas, so sure, give it to me.

@Al_4_ISU and his ilk are about to arrive on this thread, climbing over each other to inform you that Matt Campbell, unassuming average joe that he is, doesn't even have an agent, sir. Now you've done it.

I don't think I'd have even bothered with this thread, but since you went out of your way to tag me...

Cincinnati is the kind of job I could see him leaving for.  It seemingly gives him all the things he likes about Ames, but closer to home.  If it weren't for the fact that he would have to lead that program back into Jack Trice, I'd imagine he'd be thinking pretty hard about it.  Maybe he is.

His mythical agent did a real bang up job last year, apparently.  After all the rumors linking him to USC, OU, etc, and Campbell didn't get a raise or extension.  Probably more concerned with being together than making his client more $.

That happened.

And just this year, he was caught messaging a Liberty student who was pressing sexual assault charges against a player, pressuring her to drop the charges and shut her mouth.

He’s trash.

There's this too. Harassment AND comparing Ian McCaw to Jesus. Not good Bob.

You can call him trash, I said he was followed around by a dumpster fire 2-3 pages ago. Sex offender is a little much given the circumstances that are public.

It is also Auburn, so any Auburn fan should already be resigned to this. Last time I checked Bruce Pearl coached their basketball team.

It's gen-z histrionics to call that piece of shit a sex offender. You're right about that point, and there's not an actual debate that can be had. This isn't a political spin board to run down folks in sports that we don't like. The other poster should go to the CR or wherever that shit works. No one has to make shit up to make Hugh Freeze look like the piece of human shit that he is. That's what's fucking stupid. Nothing needs to be made up to do that.

If half the stuff that was being said about Herman was true, we didn't exactly have a paragon of virtue showing up at Belmont every day. Not sure how this puts us that far ahead of Auburn. He was a paragon of virtue signaling... so there is that.

We can say what we want about Herman, but I never heard that the fucking guy was running a hooker ring for himself, his recruits and his assistants. You're stretching things pretty far there.

That would be a bit of a strange hire - Keeler is 63 and hasn't done a rebuild in god knows how long.  He took Sam Houston to a title and now to FBS - maybe he's looking for a new challenge?   I could see TxSt wanting an established guy rather than another young unproven Coordinator - but Keeler feels like a little bit of an odd choice.

I'll just leave this here. I'm sure nobody here would have a problem with him doing this to their daughters.

"My interactions with him as a woman were unsettling and also strange — he commented on my physical appearance nearly every time I had to interact with him, and nearly every other female student trainer I worked with had a similar experience. "

https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/ncaaf/2017/07/29/who-hugh-freeze-conflicting-views-former-ole-miss-coach-emerge/522705001/

Katie Dalmasso, 32, said she was an eighth grader at Briarcrest in 1999 when Freeze made her change shirts inside his office after he said her Grateful Dead T-shirt violated school dress code.

“Coach Freeze pulled me in his office and told me that my shirt represented drugs,’’ Dalmasso said. “I said, ‘I’ll go change in the bathroom,’ and when I said that he said, ‘No, you’re going to change in here so I get the (Grateful Dead) shirt and you can’t have it back.’

Another former Briarcrest student said Freeze was “hyper attentive’’ to the length of her skirts and that he loomed in the parking lot after she would go to her car to change clothes. She also said she was troubled by the time she and some football players faced discipline for arriving late from lunch, when she asked to be paddled — a form of discipline reserved for the male students — instead of receiving detention. She said she was stunned when Freeze obliged rather than getting a female teacher.

“(Freeze) did some bizarre warm-up taunt before actually making contact,’’ said the woman

No one is advocating for Freeze here as any kind of stand-up guy. Comments like "I'm sure nobody here would have a problem with him doing this to their daughters" is Twitter behavior. Who the fuck here are you talking to? Where is there any advocacy here for this clown, thus meriting that kind of hawt taking?

Maybe it is just me, but I really resent the active efforts happening on this board to dim the discussions down to weak fucking rhetorical tactics usually reserved to the boring ass political discussions. "Either you are on my side or you must also approve of child molestation!" Get the fuck out of here with that bullshit. You do not have to lower the discussion down to emotional histrionics to make a point about a guy like Freeze. That's social media and political discourse at its worse, keep it elsewhere.

Making an 8th grader take off her shirt in his off in front of him seems sex offendery in my world. So does harassing multiple female college students.

One might even call it “grooming”.

Sorry if that hurts your political feelings or hits too close to home.

I realize that you get rewarded for this kind of silliness in the Cloak Room, but it doesn't work outside of that safe space.

I made zero comment about the 8th grade snippet. I commented about using emotional histrionics to attempt to amplify the gravity of a point. You showed us the text of your idiotic shrieking daughter using a technical legal term to oversell the fucking point. And now you're attempting it. And you're wrong. And so is your whiny kid. He's not having to register in Auburn with the police as a sex offender, and attempting to pin that on him because he's a rape enabling creep doesn't change that, it only makes you sound like an idiot.

I don't have any politics to speak of, other than you and your ilk should take that bullshit where everything becomes a political issue for you back from whence it came. Fucking you and every other god damned fucking political honk that feels the fucking compulsion to bring it into the other fucking forums here. A lot of us find that shit boring and distracting. I know that is hard to believe because it is your raison d'etre, but that's the rest of our happy truth, dipshit.

It's pretty simple. We can talk about all of the problems with Freeze and hate on him collectively and mock Auburn without having to turn it into something else, lazily, because that appeals to your personal sensitivities.

This is a weird hill to die on. We all agree he’s trash. Bama Chick’s kid called him a sex offender, and you go on multiple rants about how it’s CR, political, or “gen Z histrionics”.

I will add that hiring a sex worker is a criminal act. Google tells me a sex offender is someone who commits a crime involving a sexual act. :shrugs: :preparing for wall of text:

I find the situation with CU and Deion to be unique. There was a story that Colorado offered Deion the HC role. Deion confirms it but says that others are expressing interest as well.

If I'm CU, I tell Deion that we're not negotiating against every job that may come your way. Either accept our offer, make a counter-offer or we're looking elsewhere.

What I addressed with your post, which you’ve conveniently ignored with this last post is the part you added to what you quoted. Not the quotes.

“Maybe you guys are all cool with rape and molestation.” That kind of bullshit. That’s the issue. You guys coming in here with that rhetorical shit is obvious to the regulars and, yeah, it’s jihad level shit that some of us are going to fight over. So again, fuck off with playing stupid and trying to create sides on an issue in which the board has a relatively homogenous position.

It is Colorado they have zero leverage especially with Deion they need to tell him they will wash his balls for him 3x a day and pay him anything he ask and improve their shitty facilities

Guy loses 3 straight and finishes 8-4 with nothing special to show for it, and lands a new contract paying him $9M a year. I remember when he was hired by the Raiders while failing at USC. The article in something like the LAT or SFChronicle was titled "The Man Who Fell Upward" and, boy, did they get that right. I like him as a troll on twitter and foil to some of the other SEC clowns, but he's truly nothing special.

Auburn cannot be accused of failing to perform due diligence. Once they confirmed Freeze was texting a LU coed regarding her relationship with one of his players, the assuaged concerns of the hiring committee by limiting his access to social media. Now they can focus of making Auburn players tomorrow’s leaders.
