yeah, continue to ignore family factors and other behavioral issues.

Inanimate objects are causing murders...

Well propose something to fix the "other factors" then GQP. What's that? You have nothing? Of course you don't. Your kind are worthless and complicit.

I have asked this over and over again.

All right wing gun nuts on this site, tell us your proposals for stopping the American mass shooting pandemic. Show your work, be specific. Then tell us how you are voting for politicians that would propose or support such legislation.

Just tell us.

1. Stop raising fucked up kids.( impossible and no political value)  I always catch hell on this one, but it is the single biggest factor in the equation.  # of times my mom ever wondered if I'd shoot someone else unless it was in military duty or self-defense: zero.   Same for me and my kids.   Exposure to firearms in the home was regular and has continued to be.  None of those weapons have ever been pointed at a human being, much less been fired at them.

2. Have much more severe penalties for crimes committed with guns. I do support background checks.  Not big on red flag laws, especially with regard to political rivals/ differing opinions being able to weaponize that process.

3. I'm not an NRA member, nor have I ever been.  I am not remotely complicit with murders because I won't agree with your so-called solutions, so go fuck yourself.

Really?  These murders are committed by well-adjusted folks who were just overwhelmed by their firearms, right?

Nope.  Folks who had access to firearms.  I'm not concerned whether they are well-adjusted or not.  Without the firearms, it's moot.

No you are complicit because you are absolutely refusing to see what the problem is and commit to addressing it. The fact that a mentally unstable child can buy a weapon that can shoot 30 rounds in under 30 seconds is a problem. There are countless examples why and you want to divert back to this gqp talking point.

Go fuck yourself for being part of the problem.

I am what is called a gun nut by the media and I am 100% sure the solution is not to ignore the "inanimate object" that is used in every one of these attacks.

Evolve.

so making the firearms more illegal for illegal acts will prevent folks ignoring the law from breaking the law?

Got it.

Evolve.

Evolve to many of you= rescind your freedom, even if you handle it responsibly.

That isn't evolution.  It's surrender.

No thank you.

I recognize the problem.  You prefer a political solution that I disagree would solve anything.

Another talking point. The enemy is clear and it ain't what your cult buddies told you. It is right in front of your eyes.

Got it.

So you are arguing for confiscation of arms and paraphernalia that gets made illegal, then?  That way the illegal guns aren’t around anymore?

also, does the rest of the world not raise fucked up kids?

I can talk to anyone who has bought the GQP talking points and they are indistinguishable from eachother. I had this exact same conversation with a neighbor last weekend and it was like talking to slorch. Same talking points. Nobody ever knows they are in a cult until it is way too late.

Not falling for your plan to lower my IQ by having to be in the same room as you. Go throw a tortilla at a someone or whatever it is you do for fun, in your sad, pathetic life.

Well we should do away with laws then. Because they aren't stopping anyone from breaking them. Problem solved.

Come on Slorch!

Parents of the shooter throughout history have had a hard time diagnosing their weirdo kids. Partly because they love them, but also because the bastard has been weird his whole life and hadn't done anything the prior 18+ years.

Secondly, severe penalties for gun crimes isn't gonna do shit because most of these shooters are going out in a hail of gunfire or self inflicted gunshot wound.

1. What about those older "kids" who commit these atrocities? https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stephen_Paddock

2. Let's prosecute those shooters super duper hard after they commit their crimes???

If those are your "solutions", you shouldn't want to compare IQ with a gnat.

Ok, I'm here to listen on Number 1. What does that realistically look like? What sort of changes can realistically be implemented to achieve that goal?

I feel like there could definitely be a better social safety net and programs to support child rearing, but I get the feeling that conservative voters would also decry it as socialism. If you want to leave it up to the individual parents without broader policies or programs, then how on Earth is that going to happen?

You write that it's impossible, so maybe we are in agreement there. And if that's impossible, don't you think we should look at something we can realistically do? Or do you just consider it a public hazard that we have to just live with?

There’s a lot we can do to support families like paid family leave, preschool, healthcare, better wages, the list is a mile long. But that doesn’t solve the gun violence problem it solves the lack of support for families. We need both.

Weak sauce, no evidence whatsoever that child rearing has anything to do with it. Next.

Este. But try having this conversation with someone that doesn't comprehend that people are born neurologically hardwired.

You don’t think the other 50 people who got shot/shot someone in Chicago this weekend had anything to do with how they were raised?

Do you really think actors that take place in violent crimes associated with the black market and gangs are the same as mass murders?

Not at all. I do believe the shootings count in the statistics in gun violence that is pointed to as a reason we should make changes, though. Gun violence is gun violence. If you’re using those stats, then it should be part of the discussion.
