Probably throw a small wager that way. Shit, I might do the same on Hossler as well as he's in second at -4.

Well, the good news there is: it’s your money. Have at it if you’d like

Scottie -3, after 2 holes - he is playing a different game than even the Pros. It is more like going to the bank to make a deposit, than it is like competing with peers.

And still -3 through 12. (Dropped a shot on 3, got it back on 11.)

I guess the lesson in there is, never doubt the power of a Wally jinx

since I made my first post about Scottie being hot he has made 2 birdies and 4 bogies, maybe I should change my profile photo

Jesus, Scottie.  Started the day at -1.  Through 11 holes today, he was 7 under for the round, 8 under for the tourney.  But he just made back to back bogeys.

Birdies 16 and 17 to get to -8

drops a shot on 18.

What a shitty fucking Sunday round.

Winner (Ben Griffin) went +4 with no birdies over last 16 holes of tournament. Terrible golf from him and Schmid until a little drama on 18.

Rickie was in the final threesome and played the worst of them all. Ugly stuff.

All Sunday afternoons can't be awesome finishes. I was rooting for Schmid because I always root for people to win their first event.

I woke up from my nap sometime during 60 Minutes and had to check the app to see who won.

Down one shot, Schmid had a fried egg from the bunker on 17 after a bad approach shot, then decided to play it right of the green into deep rough to keep the ball semi-close to hole. Dottie and the crew were incredulous that he would be so conservative in that situation. He did "save" bogey though.

His flop hole out on 18 was pretty awesome though.

Quote

The PGA Tour is eliminating the controversial starting-strokes format from the Tour Championship in its latest attempt to make its season-ending tournament more compelling and climactic for golf fans, the tour announced Tuesday.

Starting with this year's Tour Championship at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta from Aug. 21 to 24, all 30 players in the field will start at even par in a stroke-play tournament.

The winner after 72 holes will capture the FedEx Cup and collect a bonus and five-year PGA Tour exemption.

Cool. Should just be like a super marquee Tour event now.

Jeez - only because they hated the tournament within a tournament, and the networks not keeping up with it or simplifying the season long event. They want to keep it simple, so don't mention top ten finishes, moving into/out of the OWGR top 50 .... there is more going on in many events beyond who wins the thing. But don't expect to hear about it on NBC, CBS or the Golf Channel.

The Women’s U.S. Open coverage is stupid. It’s only on Peacock until 2pm when NBC picks it up. So you’ll get to see about half of the leaders’ round. In the meantime, my NBC affiliate is showing paid programming on retirement annuities.

Then NBC sends the broadcast to the Golf Channel right at 5 with leaders still on the course. SMH

And it was a fat chick talking about golf lessons or something.

Horrible

The fuckstick who just yelled “one point Grifindor!” after Griffin’s tee shot should be stabbed in the neck with a knife.

Not sure we’ve seen club face control, for years, like we are seeing with Scotty. Probably Tiger 2000 but it’s hard to remember week to week, 25 years ago. Just a truly remarkable level of consistency.

Yeah. Only big names rolling out this week are likely sponsored by RBC so they have to show up.

Rory made an 8 on the 5th hole and is gonna trunk slam the freaking Canadian Open. Not a big confidence boost going into next week…

He talked a bit about a lack of motivation after the Masters. I bet he’ll get geared back up for The Open since it’s in Northern Ireland but I don’t expect much from him at Oakmont.

So what’s the deal with this tournament?  All the good players get held up in Immigration?

Week before a major, most have a prep schedule that doesn't include playing the event this week.

Just a terrible playoff. Playing an unreachable par 5 over and over is hardly compelling. Neither are the participants. Get this over with and bring on Oakmont

“Unreachable” my ass!  Damn Cam Young air mails the green with a 3 wood 278 yards out and can’t get up and down for the playoff.

But I’m not bitter or anything!
