I’m sure we’ll change the thread title.

The East should be historically bad next year without Tatum and Haliburton. Giannis’ best look at a title in years. I could see the Pistons making some noise and the Knicks taking a step back.

People keep parroting this but I don't really follow. His team is fucking dogshit. Between Cleveland, Orlando and Detroit someone will probably be better than MIL and if they aren't then whoever makes the Finals is going to get ass raped.

meanwhile San Antonio probably joins the Western Conference blood bath free for all, Houston rounds out their starting 5 with an all time great, Dallas lands Flagg but at least no Kyrie, Memphis might take a step back, Wolves need to get a PG before we become  more serious than just a WCF participation trophy(i think Tim Connolly is cooking something up to address this), Golden State might have 1 good year left with this cores age, Denver still has the best player in the world but they also have MPJs contract holding them back, Lakers still need to build around Luka thatll take a year or 2, Clippers are older but spawned one of the best young centers in the league so hteyll be around. Portland played better down the stretch so they might be a play in threat.

Jazz, Suns, Kings(trending downward) will be the punching bags of the west

With Haliburton out for season (probable), I wouldn't be surprised if the pacers punt on resigning Turner. Why go over the 2nd apron for a team without championship hopes?

He was for lack of a better word atrocious against OKC in basically every facet of the game

He shot it horribly from three,  but he played great defense and hit a ton of mid range shots. He's also their only true big. They need a lot more size up front, even if they do re-sign him. He's also their longest tenured player and seemingly critical to their culture. I would not be surprised if they get him on a team friendly deal.

One thing about the Haliburton injury... they got lucky as hell that they traded out their 2025 pick for the return of their 2026 pick. There's no way the Pelicans make that same deal today.

Agreed.  Milwaukee will probably be "a contender" in the east by default, but that roster is terrible.  The three teams you mentioned + the Knicks should all be better than them and even watered down versions of Boston and Indiana should be right there with them.

If KD were ring chasing, he would have gone to Miami given how wide open the East. It’s very cool he wanted to be closer to Austin to close out his career.

Riley is losing his mind. Allegedly he wouldn’t include Highsmith in a deal for KD.

I read ware they didn’t want to part with but PHX could have a combo of like Vasquez, topic, and #20 or something plus Wiggins and rozier

I’d rather have topic and see if he develops into something later on vs Jalen green

The Suns probably think they can use 5 seconds to pick up an additional first (28-30). It’s happened before. It’s not nothing especially when it’s 5 of them in a single package, but it’s a small price to pay for KD.

Topic is in MIA?   I thought he was on OKC's roster

I wish the Knicks make a harder run at Durant.  East is wide open

Is there any evidence Durant wanted to play there? If not, the knicks are looking at a one year rental and probably less motivated than the Rockets to offer assets for Durant.

I feel like he meant Jovic

I was wondering if that was the case and if so I'd take Green with his warts over Jovic 100:100
