Well, you're half right. I am new here. Some of ya'll might remember me from BC or BON 10+ years ago. But I'm also a coward. I only made an account because I'm in a c2c fantasy league and I took Daylan McCutcheon probably really early and I came here to ask if he's still the WR3/4. But I chickened out and decided to defend a forgotten Linklater movie I saw once on a plane instead. Place seems all right, though. Except that one guy.

Hate to break it to you , dude, but there's more than one.

Maybe you should bring it up with the rep for Austin City Council District 6.

Interesting. I have never had any strong feelings about Westwood.

Seems like enough people have said it, but Westwood High School is in fact in Austin, and despite the odd fact that it's part of the Round Rock Independent School District, a huge portion of the Westwood High population lives in Austin, Texas.

So your feelings about Westwood may not be strong, but they are clearly wrong.

Is that the school near Parmer lane in the RR school district?

No.  East of 183 between Anderson Mill and 620.

I only know/care about Westwood since I now live in that district after moving in with my wife last March, and my stepdaughter goes there.

Yeah, yeah, I know.  Username doesn't check out.

Thought it is West of 183 ??

I will say there are a couple of top notch restaurants over there off of Lake Creek and 620: Stuffed Cajun Meat Market and Interstellar BBQ

GD I miss that place. We'd get Cajun fried turkeys there. Great etouffee. Burned down in an insurance fire.

Fwiw, almost every team has players that do this, even in high school.

We never did that in high school, which explains why our passing game sucked.

Damn 80's run-based offenses....

Assuming Goosby performs as expected (going off memory, but I believe he had ~315 snaps without giving up a single QB hit), Texas can leave him on an island and help the RT. Injuries are never good, but I can think of at least 20 others that would have had more impact on the season.

I am curious about his run blocking, even if there is an expectation of improved run blocking on the interior. As a unit though, OL remains the big ? for me. Behind that, who will RB2 and RB3 be? And can they protect the ball and their QB?

Can you Austin idiots shut the fuck up with the boring discussion you can take to the "I'm going to bore you with city boundaries and local eateries" board?

Connolly put out his "Most Important Players in CFB 2025" article, listing the top 40.

Manning is predictably #1. Hill and Simmons are the only other horns mentioned, albeit not ranked.

Goosby? I think he is more of a typical LT. Great feet and mobility, but not a guy you run a ton power behind. Young player with no spring game, so who the fvck really knows. You can say that about most the OL.

I think RB might be a true committee this year. Wisner will play. Baxter will play. He was the best blocking RB as a true freshman with a new OL and young Qb that has real value. I assume someone out of Clark, Simon, and Gibson will likely emerge as a viable 3rd. That is my guess.

Hill and Simmons are 1st round talents. You cannot replace their production, but I feel like there is quality depth behind them. I cannot put Goosby ahead of those guys, but I have the suspicion the drop from Goosby to the next LT might be as large as any position outside of QB.

The worst are people from the Woodlands that say they are from Houston.

While you're not wrong, Houston suffers from not having an easily referencable phrase like "DFW" or "the panhandle" or "the valley."

Soto is ridiculously excellent sushi tucked between a Dollar Tree and a Tarka restaurant. And don't sleep on Cedro's Scratch Italian.

And fuck the haters. Westwood class of '88.

The federal OMB just calls it "Great Houston" or the "Greater Houston Metroplex," which doesn't seem all that awkward.

Includes everything east of Katy all the way to Pasadena, and from The Woodlands to Galveston.

No one says the "Metroplex" to mean anything but the DFW region

If Baxter can hold up under full-contact play, that will be huge. Regardless, there is tangible opportunity to incentivize Clark, Gibson and Simon.

I really wish you guys would stop conjuring the concept of needing someone to fill in for Goosby. That dude is playing in 16 straight games, every snap except for garbage time.

Pretty sure I saw him walking down red River, north of Hancock HEB a few weeks ago, so I’m going Hyde Park.
