That problem is more with the dumbass ways oversized conferences use tie breakers to determine championship game qualifiers. Miami is clearly better than Duke.

Yep. CFP had to fix the ACC's mess and ND got fucked as a result. Oh well.

There are teams clearly better than James Madison and Tulane yet they are in. Alabama has 3 losses yet they are in

I just think the bottom line is if you lost more than one game and you get a playoff berth it is a gift.

I am not going to lose any sleep our 3 loss team didn't make it. Even if some less deserving teams made it in. We had a shot to get it done and we didn't.

And yes I understand the perverse scheduling incentives that creates. If it is solely about your losses and not your wins then why take any risks? But college football has always been that way.

At least the committee has consistently shown they will respect H2H above all else.

And if you're in the bracket before the CCG, you'll be in the bracket after the CCG regardless of result. So essentially you can only benefit from a CCG, but you can never be harmed enough to drop out.

Whatever.

Of course you can. You just have to want to do it.

You still haven't answered the question. How do you make a bracket without humans or computers involved. It's not governed by the fundamental laws of space and time so it's not going to just coalesce on its own.

It’s really just down to Indiana, Ohio State, and Georgia. I’m not sure anything else matters.

I think Tech is legitimately pretty salty but it's hard to sus out that conference considering Tech didn't play anyone OOC.

Oregon is also a wildcard.

And yet you're completely aware of the rules which have existed for two years now that state that the five highest ranked conference champs get in.

So quarters if seeds hold:

Cotton 12/31, 6:30pm: Tech vs Oregon

Orange 1/1, 11:00am: Ohio State vs A&M

Rose 1/1, 3pm: Indiana vs ou

Sugar 1/1, 7pm: UGA vs Ole Miss

Home games for Miami and Tulane if they can pull upsets would be interesting.

The ACC champion isn't in but they get an at large team, what's the point of the playoffs

Which is why a Miami shouldn’t be in.

I don't know about that. I think they'll do just fine.

Why are you such a contrarian?

Wait, are people actually mad about Miami making it in over ND?

Yes. Neither should be in honestly.

Oregon will coast the first two rounds. We shall see if Miami is any good.

Set it up for all automatic qualifiers from the P4 conferences. Get rid of the G5.

It's not rocket surgery.

Texas and Ohio St agreed to these games in 2012...14 years ago. there wasnt even a CFP at the time.

Because I think it's more likely that this CFP will have its highest ratings ever than its lowest.

The reality will probably be somewhere in the middle.

I never really expected Texas to make it due to how we stood in the polls this year, after both wins and losses. Once we didn't match the hype, we were dismissed.

Screwing aggy over is a small consolation.

Hopefully ousucks gets demolished.

Sark better get his shit together this for next year.

True. But the same kind of thing was true during the BCS era.

Of course it was. Notre Dame has no legs to stand on. They don't want to join a conference like everyone else.

Committee punishment for Notre Dame not being in a conference...

While Carson Beck's goofy ass is dancing on A&M's logo, they'll be fucking fuming over their loss to us. Lmao

ESPN barely even mentioning Texas. Why did we join this shit conference again?

Go independent tomorrow and play a shit schedule. Fuck the CFP.

I can get with this, independence. Sucks when your own leagues actively work against you.

This is fraud. What else needs to be said? This is not a playoff, it's a bullshit invitational ran by a committee fueled by Ensure. There is no way this format remains the same next year. No fucking way.

with G5 the 5 seed is still the best seed.  you get a gimmie and then play the worst bye team.  I think Oregon can be had but will be funny if they drill Tech.

lmao the best game of the first round (miami @ aggy) is at 11:00am.  fucking hilarious.

Aren't NFL games on Saturdays at that point?  Last year, the college games that went up against NFL got nothing.

OU and Bama on Friday night will get a fat rating.
