Ted starting to show an aggy-esque inferiority complex.

It's interesting that he has nothing in the tank to tell Texans why they should vote for him.  It looks like he's going to spend most of his campaign trying to convince people not to vote for Beto.

Also, I wish he'd see a doctor.  I don't like him, but I don't like seeing somebody who is constipated so often.

Beto will never push this, but the Sandy Hook families are not happy with Cruz.

Dear U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz,

As counsel for the Sandy Hook parents in their Texas defamation lawsuits, we ask that you reconsider your recent statements about InfoWars host Alex Jones.

Over the past month, you have repeatedly defended Jones against Facebook’s decision to ban his account. Just a few days ago, you wrote yet another tweet defending InfoWars against what you called “tech censorship online.”

When it comes to Jones, we can only presume that you are speaking from ignorance and that you do not know the nature of the conduct you are now zealously defending, nor the harm that has befallen my clients and many others. This is not a question of free speech. This is not a question of disagreeing with a person’s political views. This is a question of just how much damage we’re prepared to let a madman inflict on the lives of innocent victims through malicious lies and willful harassment.

We beg that you have your staff provide you the court filings in Pozner v. Jones, Cause No. D-1-GN-18-001842, and that you read the affidavit of former Statesman editor Fred Zipp, who details the monstrous five-year campaign of lies and dangerous harassment waged against the Sandy Hook families. You’ll learn that when Leonard Pozner had videos about his son removed from YouTube, Jones retaliated by revealing addresses and displaying maps that could be used to find the family. You’ll learn that in 2017, an InfoWars follower was sentenced to prison when law enforcement caught her stalking the Pozner family and threatening their lives.

Have your staff provide you the court filings in Heslin v. Jones, Cause No. D-1-GN-18-001835, and you’ll learn that an InfoWars host laughed as he mocked a Sandy Hook father as a fake, claiming he could prove the father was lying about having held his dead child. Read these filings and understand what he and his reporters have done to endanger the community in Newtown, Conn., before you say anything else about Jones.

It doesn’t stop with Sandy Hook. Consult the court filings in Fontaine v. Jones, Cause No. D-1-GN-18-001605, and read the affidavit of former Snopes.com editor Brooke Binkowski.

You’ll learn that InfoWars maliciously accused an innocent young man of being the shooter in Parkland, Fla., based on a tip from neo-Nazi trolls on a gutter website famous for child pornography and other illegal activity. After InfoWars spread his image to millions, and as Jones insisted Parkland was a “false flag,” conspiracy fanatics harassed this young man and threatened his life, alleging he was a “crisis actor.”

Nor does it stop with the cases we are handling here in Texas. Jones also faces lawsuits in Virginia, Connecticut and Ohio. An armed InfoWars follower opened fire inside a pizzeria following Jones’ bizarre lies about a pedophile dungeon in the basement run by Washington, D.C., elites. Jones told his followers that “you have to go investigate it for yourself.” After Jones told his viewers that the Sutherland Springs church shooting was an operation ordered by the “deep state,” conspiracy fanatics yelled violent threats at the pastor.

We’re not sure what it will take for you to stop defending Jones. Does a Sandy Hook parent need to die before Facebook is allowed to deny this man a platform for his mayhem on their private service? Our clients fully recognize that if Jones wants to tell lies about them in the public square, there is very little anyone can do outside a courtroom to stop him. But we ask you not to defend the idea that private companies like Facebook must empower Jones to harass and endanger the lives of innocent victims.

Nor is this a political issue, nor a fight between Democrats and Republicans. Jones accused President Bush of staging 9/11, and he attacked your family, claiming your father, Rafael Cruz, killed JFK. Ever since the 2016 campaign, we have never understood why you refused to stand up for your family against the people who spread these lies — and you worked hard to ingratiate yourself to them. We are sure you had your reasons. And we are not asking you to stand up for the Sandy Hook families now; we just want you to fully understand what you are defending before you throw the weight of your office behind the man who has tormented their lives and so many others.

Bankston and Ogden are attorneys representing Sandy Hook parents in Texas defamation lawsuits against Jones.

This last part especially

Last I looked, Steve Kerr was an American.

I'm an American.

Cruz is a Canadian.

I'ma stand with the 'muricans on this one.

that's great and all but I'm worried that Beto stepped in it and this is a losing issue here.  I hope I'm wrong but defending the anthem kneelers doesn't play, at least in this state.

Guess we'll see at the next round of polls.

People who get their undies in a wad over the kneeling stuff were never going to vote for Beto.

Edit: Also, its a sure sign that Ted has nothing in the tank if that's the best he can do.

I don't see Beto standing on this, or making it a cornerstone of his campaign.  And if Beto is smart (and all indicators are, thus far, when it comes to people, he's 10X smarter than Ted), pretty soon, we'll see a photo or video of Beto at an El Paso Chihuaha's game, singing the anthem on his feet, hand over his heart, with his smiling kids next to him.

Ted Cruz stands up to make a show, and a tortured point.

Beto stands up for ALL Texans. He doesn't put on a show about how much he loves our country -- he lives it, from a life of service to an evening with his family celebrating America's game.  Play ball!

30 years since Lloyd Bentsen was re-elected as US senator, 24 since Bob Bullock won re-election in the statewide race for Lt Governor.... 2018 we will elect Beto O’Rourke as the first Democrat senator from the great state of Texas since 1988. I’m fucking stoked. Let’s do this.

TC's best strategy was to play up his own name recognition and accomplishments (don't choke, not liable for keyboards and whatnot) and not mention his opposition over and over effectively advertising for him.   Beto is running a positive campaign, and people are hopeful.   TC is running a disjointed fear based campaign and not very effectively.  Is TC broke?

Can't believe this weirdo is only 47 years old.  He has the body and face of some babushka-wearing grandma.

Thilence, peasant! Ted Cruz comes from the purest unadulterated blood of Ethpain! He is his own cousin! And you? A mongrel nothing whose parents were not even related!

I’m sick of the NFL anthem bullshit. Holy fuck. If you believe in what the anthem represents, then you know liberty means having the right to stand or kneel(or lie down) at your choosing...and to rile up aggy, keep your hat on.  Fuck em.

Same.... but I’m sort of rooting for it to catch on in NCAA specifically the SEC.  The LULZ would be over the top.

Here’s what the campaign sent me:

Not only was Beto on the ground as Rockport, Victoria, Goliad, Port Arthur, Beaumont, Port Lavaca, and Houston recovered from the greatest amount of rain ever recorded in the continental United States but he has consistently voted for robust Harvey funding. This includes working with bipartisan members of Congress to pass disaster relief packages totaling $15.3 billion (HR 601), $36.5 billion (HR 2266), $81 billion (HR 4667), and $90 billion (HR 1892).

It's also important to note that Senator Cruz voted against over $12 billion for FEMA, including $7.9 billion for the Disaster Relief Fund. He also voted against $250 million for pre-disaster mitigation grants, $260 million for flood mapping, and $700 million for firefighter equipment and staffing grants. While Cruz refused to support this funding, Senator John Cornyn and Congressman O'Rourke both voted for it.

Really enjoyed meeting you the other day.

That's great!  Thanks for sharing that!

110% agree.  It's deflection away from Beto talking about real points and Cruz has no platform.  Simple as that.

We just need to bring that up every time someone mentions this as a negative about Beto.  That post Born to Run made is full of ammunition to use against TC.

How the fuck does any man, any Texan, go into a polling booth and say "Ted Cruz is the man I want representing me"?

This is a real dilemma for the FAKE Gary Johnson voters.   They had Hillary to blame last election, now?

but we all know the GJ voters will still vote for Ted and pretend like they voted 3rd party.  Sad!
